Just graduated DEXA Virtual Assistant trainee secures a management assistant job with an annual salary of N1.4M in Abuja. 😊

Congratulations to Titilope.

This is one in many beautiful stories that has come out of Cohort 1 of our VA boycamp.

We'll share more of them.

I just started working on this Internet Scammer (yahoo boy) who runs what they call a "HK'.

You know he's a boss.

He's covered in tattoos, but quite intelligent. Way more intelligent than 98% of scammers I've come across or spoken to.

A good example of "Don't judge a book by its cover"

He has boys working for him and learning scams under him.

I blended in with him, listened to his story and we've talked a couple of times ever since for more than 1 hour on each occasion.

He's also a new occupant in my new estate neighbourhood. A bit of a premium place so I didn't want to, but expected to see people like him a lot.

He's an orphan, from a polygamous home, couldn't go to school, and has been through bad life and has eventually touched money through scam.

Dude is genuinely nice, has a conscience and reasonable but, an internet scammer.

In his defence: He had to do what he had to do to get cash and enjoy outside life.

Even though he's not proud of it and wishes to stop, but too late to go back. According to him.

He even told me some of the ways they scam their unsuspecting white female victims.

I listened and didn't judge him. I pay close attention to everything he says and laugh where necessary.

It appears he respects me and loves my simplicity and composure. But he really doesn't know me as much as I now know him.

He just got waves of who "I could likely be" from one of his boys and what I'm into (tech). He doesn't know much about tech too.

The only way he could listen to me was that God has made something available to amplify my voice, for purposes like this. (I believe). (If you know what I mean).

Today I looked him in the eyes and said; "You are hurting people through your chosen hustle path".

He went quiet. I said again. "This is not who you are. This is genuinely not who you are"

"You're a really good guy. You have a conscience that is alive (no jokes)."

You need to clean your wealth. You need something you'll be proud of. You need to start a new life through something legitimate.

I told him about tech. But I was careful not to mention the money part of tech.

I sold the tech ethics and lifestyle to him. Made him understand tech is the only place nobody will judge him for his choice of dressing or tattoos (which he now regrets getting).

It's a gradual process. He's my project now.

God willing, we'll win him over and save many innocent victims. Even if I don't, I'll plant a seed that will blossom someday.

And since he runs a syndicate, we'll win more people over through him.

Yahoo no be work! You're hurting people. You are stealing!!!

I've been through shit too. But I chose a different path. You can too.

No excuse is good enough to hurt people who directly took nothing from you.

But I understand most people are uninfomed and that's where I come in. 😊

We talked about God too. 😉

We had the first DEXA Campus Tech Hubs West African Volunteers meeting today.

It was amazing to hear the brilliant thoughts that came from this team of selfless individuals.

We got to know ourselves and I went forward to sell the DEXA's DCTH vision and dream of spreading the Tech gospel to campuses across Africa, and empowering Africa's employable population as a way to encourage Tech innovations, curb unemployment and reduce cyberfraud involvement among young Africans.

I also spelt out the structures and systems upon which this project will be running.

To say I can't wait to officially launch the project ad work with this team n is an understatement.

I am super excited to be a part of these people pioneering a new phase and narrative for Africa through tech.

There're a lot of wonderful updates to come.

Just keep your fingers crossed.

Yass!!!! Tech Job of 2.4million Naira in the bag for a DEXA Nigerian student.

Tell me a better way to begin the month.

Congratulations! to her.

This is why we exist. This is why we want you to start a career in tech and get certified.

And no, she didn't have prior experience in Project management.

She just started learning from scratch and built up in just months. Guess what? She's a Mom. 😊

Despite all the unspoken challenges I face running this tech start up, goodnews like this and intentional people like her are "Why I remain resilient and wake up each day knowing I have to keep it running".

Here's to the DEXA Community of Techies...🍷

I want you to always know that DEXA won't change your life if you're unwilling. You're the key factor.

You have to be willing to put in the work.

Nothing at all can prepare you for the amount of love and support you'll receive as a part of DEXA .

Whether you come across us as a student, intern or staff. You become family.

No matter what country you're from.

As long as you play your part well, we'll keep our promises to the least.

I might not keep your heart unbroken, But I do keep to my words.

So... this one time DEXA student and VA Team Lead Intern is about to be hired by a UK company as a Virtual Assistant.

They are visibly impressed by her DEXA VA Certification and training, and now reached out to us to gain further insight about her.

And... We spoke the truth to her character. We put our integrity behind her.

I can't wait to see her share her employment letter.

AI Update: Google Gemini now has memory.

Meaning it can now remember everything about you from previous discussion 😊

1/ What is Gemini’s memory?

Until now, Gemini (like most AI chatbots) would forget past conversations once the chat ended. Now, it can remember details about you, your interests, and your past interactions.

2/Why does this matter?

With memory, Gemini can:

+ Recall your preferences (e.g., “You like tech news? Here’s today’s top AI story.”)

+ Remember past convos (“Last time, you were learning Python. Want to continue?”)

+ Personalize responses based on ongoing interactions

3/ How does it compare to ChatGPT?

OpenAI’s ChatGPT (pro version) already has a memory feature that stores user preferences. Google is now catching up, making Gemini a more competitive AI assistant.

4/ How does memory work?

+ Gemini saves details automatically as you chat.

+ You can view, edit, or delete what it remembers in the “Saved Info” section.

+ It transparently tells you when it’s using memory in a response.

5/ Who gets access?

Right now, Gemini’s memory is rolling out to Google One AI Premium users. But it’s expected to expand to more users over time.

6/ Privacy concerns?

Google says you’ll have full control over your memory settings.

You can:

🔹 Turn memory off anytime
🔹 Delete specific memories
🔹 See what Gemini remembers about you
