The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane for Sugar Season 2024-25(October-September) at ₹ 340/quintal at sugar recovery rate of 10.25%.
This is historic price of sugarcane which is about 8% higher than FRP of sugarcane for current season 2023-24. The revised FRP will be applicable w.e.f. 01 Oct 2024.
The new FRP is 107 per cent higher than A2+FL cost of sugarcane

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated January 29, 2024, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹5.00 lakh on Bajaj Housing Finance Limited, Pune.
This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers vested in RBI under the provisions of clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 52A read with clause (aa) of sub-section (3) of section 49 of the National Housing Bank Act, 1987.
Reason- The company did not take prior written permission of RBI for change in management resulting in change in more than 30% of the directors, excluding independent directors.
