Speaking of being in the body, this recommendation comes from a friend currently training in somatic experiencing. These are tools that I use a lot that help me process the stuck emotions and energy in my body.

This is a great refresher if you've learned this already, and a great intro if you are unfamiliar with how to heal from trauma.

P.s., everybody carries some kind of trauma, whether it's from a big and cataclysmic event, or little (repeated) things from early childhood that have added up, or things you're completely unconscious of from a pre- verbal state (or even past lifetimes).

Or say, from surviving two solid years of ostrasizing, gaslighting, coercion, shaming and blaming on an international level.

We cover up these things with smoking, drinking, working non stop, scrolling through our phone for a few hours, forming addictive, codependent relationships, constantly consuming *more* info, more videos, more knowledge, anything to get us out of our body.

For some, being in the body is a very scary experience. I understand that. If that's your present reality, don't numb out! These are the kinds of practices that will help you find safety. Be gentle with yourself, don't push too hard, but challenge yourself today to connect in a different way and try out a new tool.

If that is extremely challenging or brings up too much and feels unsafe, back off, and be sure to contact someone that is trained to guide you through these practices, that's trained in trauma therapy.

If anybody wants Somatic Tips, I highly Recommend Rowan's Channel, I learned about her before when I was in Teal Tribe on FB. Don't worry she's not some crazy Teal Swan zealot, she's spent the last several years training in yoga and different modalities of therapy such as somatic therapy and is a somatic practitioner, but also knows her stuff when it comes to spirituality. Pretty smart when it comes to things like IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy, parts work and trauma work too.

I mention her though because she's got a cool free series on somatic therapy and she's a pretty smart cookie to learn from.

Because of its immensely calming effects, I think it's perfect for Gemini season, coming fresh out of a mercury retrograde (we're still in shadow and it's squaring Saturn- read: still experiencing issues and obstacles, going over ground we covered already to re-do things; have some patience with yourself) - so why not explore a new soothing tea?
