DOJ issues sweeping request for voter rolls in nine states, including Colorado
The U.S. Department of Justice is asking numerous states for voter data, including an unprecedented trove of documents from Colorado.
Driving the news: The DOJ has asked for copies of voter rolls from at least nine states, the Washington Post scooped.
Meanwhile, separately, a political consultant named Jeff Small — claiming to act on behalf of the White House — has contacted "more than half a dozen" Republican county clerks in Colorado, per the Post, asking if the federal government or a third party could physically inspect their election equipment.
Small is the former chief of staff to Colorado U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Windsor).
What they're saying: All clerks who Small contacted reportedly rejected his request. "To me, it felt like they were wanting to intervene before 2026," Fremont County Republican clerk Justin Grantham told the Post.
The other side: In a statement to the Denver Post on Wednesday, Small said he was simply connecting federal officials with clerks at the request of people involved in a presidential executive order on election security.
He said he wasn't paid and called the outreach voluntary — motivated by what he called Griswold's "security debacles."
The big picture: The Justice Department has requested voter lists from a mix of Republican- and Democratic-controlled states, including Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Oklahoma and Wisconsin, per the Post.

Denver sues Trump administration, again, over threats to withhold federal funding
The City and County of Denver has filed another lawsuit challenging the Trump administration over threats to withhold funding from so-called “sanctuary jurisdictions” that limit local enforcement of federal immigration law.
The city joins close to 50 other jurisdictions in the lawsuit, filed this week in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
“Even as President Trump continues to willfully ignore the rule of law by bullying cities into doing his dirty work, Denver will always stay true to our values,” Denver Mayor Mike Johnston said in a statement. “Time and time again, Denver has shown that we enforce the law without fear or favor and work with federal authorities to bring criminals to justice.”
The lawsuit seeks to protect the cities' constitutional separation of powers.
Broadly speaking, a “sanctuary city” refers to a jurisdiction that discourages or prevents local law enforcement from reporting an individual’s immigration status to federal authorities.

You're heard of Epstein's property at Little St. James Island, but you probably have not heard about his property named Zorro Ranch in New Mexico. While his island served as his trafficking hub for elite guests, Zorro Ranch was more of his science project. Epstein definitely trafficked women here, as there have been victims to come forward, but his goals were stranger. He invited scientists here, one such being George Church (famous geneticist) who disclosed that Epstein had told him his plan to use the ranch as a breeding site, impregnating as many as 20 trafficked girls at a time with his offspring.
Epstein had a curiously lax sex offender status in New Mexico that granted him complete leniency of movement. He owned the property from 1993 until his death in 2019. The property is nearly 10,000 acres, and the mansion that sits on it is 27,000 square feet. Till this day, from what I can find, there have been no comprehensive investigations of this property.

DOJ wants to protect ‘sources and methods’
Protecting sources and methods comes above justice for pedophiles, or anything else.
Transparency requires a structural contradiction. An intelligence bureaucracy can not be transparent.
‘Justice’ is not part of DOJ Epstein framework
