We'll be providing financial breakdowns to show how expensive the festival was to put on in due time (approx 100k). In the meantime, here is evidence of the company which was booked in to install our main stage sound system and provide professional lighting and sound engineers which never happened. One of the many let downs at the festival, including our second stage manager bailing on us. Please direct complaints to Ben Stonehouse, the Operations Director at ben@eventsgear.co.uk
Unless you are a chartered accountant who has access to the exact costs incurred by what we have put on, creating narratives that the festival was a money grab by the organiser is completely unfounded and pure speculation. It was not.
There are also rumours that the festival received a 90k donation from Eric Clapton. This also never happened. This was an independently funded festival that is for the people, by the people.

Over the course of the first-ever Jam for Freedom Festival earlier this month, the WCH team was reminded how much we all need each other and how important human connection is, especially with like-minded individuals as we navigate the storm that is before us.
Nothing beats the opportunity to meet and speak with people in person.
It was inspiring to see the attendees, volunteers, and musicians continually overcome the various challenges that arose throughout the event.

MONDAY: Surviving the Antidepressant Epidemic
Join Dr Tess Lawrie and Linda Rae on the 25th of September at 6pm UTC as they discuss the increase in antidepressant use and their long-term withdrawal effects with our Better Way Live guests Dr Ali Ajaz and Dr David Healey.
Dr David Healy is a scientist, psychopharmacologist, and Professor of Psychiatry. He has authored more than 220 peer-reviewed articles, 300 other pieces, and 25 books, including Pharmageddon and his most recent book Shipwreck of the Singular – Healthcare’s Castaways. Dr Healy is also founder and CEO of Data Based Medicine Limited, which operates through its website RxISK.org, dedicated to making medicines safer through online direct patient reporting of drug side effects.
Dr Ali Ajaz is a Consultant Psychiatrist and an academic with a specialist interest in medical education and research. He graduated from Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas School of Medicine and trained in East London in the field of forensic mental health. He worked in the NHS for 17 years, before starting his own clinical practice in Canary Wharf, London. Dr Ajaz uses a functional health approach to finding mental health solutions for his patients, with a particular focus on identifying and treating root causes. He is co-chair of the Doctors for Patients UK group, that provides free CPD meetings for UK doctors focusing on patient-centred and ethical medicine.
