New Holland Park
Walk along the Moika embankment from the center. The island is visible from afar - high brick walls, plywood windows, thickets near the water. The entrance to the "New Holland" is only on one side. Be prepared for the fact that the guards will ask you to show the contents of the bags, and drinks and food will be left waiting for you in special cells. The feet that step on the territory of the art space usually direct their owners first to the photo booth, then to trendy cafes, and finally ask to lie on the green grass if it's summer, or to put on skates and go to the skating rink in winter.

Yakimanskaya Embankment
The embankment appeared in the oldest Moscow district of Yakimanka. Here in the XV century was formed Golutvinskaya sloboda, belonging to the Kolomna monastery in
Moscow. The first settlers were workers and draft peasants.
This area was often flooded as a result of floods until the 1780s, when a Drainage canal and a series of dams were built. The embankment was located along the canal. Nevertheless, floods still happened, and only the Moscow Canal, launched in 1938, solved this problem.

Alekseevsky Palace
There are not so many grand ducal palaces in St. Petersburg (belonging to direct descendants, sons and daughters of emperors), and Alekseevsky is one of them.
The building has an interesting architecture. Firstly, it was based on the previous buildings that existed on this site. These are the mansions of the Major General
Albrecht, the owner of the Malkiel machine-building plants and some other buildings. Secondly, the palace itself does not quite fit into the overall urban picture - it was built in the style of a French chateau, this was the wish of the Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich himself, and Mesmacher brought it to life.
