↘️FIELD VISIT OF THE BASIC CIVIL COURT IN SKOPJE BY THE LAW STUDENTS ⚖️👩🏼⚖️
Students of the Faculty of Law from the legal studies department guided by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nikola Dacev visited the First Instance Civil Court in Skopje on 16th of May 2022. During the visit, the law students had the opportunity to learn about the activities and manner of work of the Civil Court and to attend court hearings in the field of civil relations with Judge Jehona Sadiku.
On the attended trials, the students were able to see the work of the judge, the role of the attorneys and their skills for verbal reasoning, rhetoric, presentation of facts and allegations. The students learned about the types of civil disputes the First Instance Civil Court is competent for, precisely the cases for compensation of damages. During the hearings, the students had the opportunity to get acquainted with all the phases of the civil litigation procedure, the pre-trial hearing, the evidence procedure, the main hearing, the closing arguments of the parties, etc. They had the opportunity to see the types of evidence used in the proceedings and the manner in which they were presented and argued. The judge also presented some of the laws that are used in the cases initiated in the civil court, especially pointing out the law on litigation procedure as the basic law according to which the judges in the civil court work.
Upon completion of the court hearings, the students expressed great satisfaction by the gained experience and knowledge and showed an interest in attending court hearings more frequently and familiarizing themselves with the practical aspects of the studied courses.

On 20.05.2022 at the Faculty of Law a guest lecture entitled: “Rethinking Integration and Transnationalism: A Typological Paradigm of EU-Western Balkans Migration System" was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eda Gemi, Head of the Law Department at the University of New York Tirana.
In her open lecture, Assoc. Prof. Eda Gemi identified the patterns of interaction between integration and transnationalism and how they have shaped the dynamics of migration trajectories of migrants in the Western Balkans. Her typological paradigm of EU-Western Balkans migration system revolved around the history of the region, the historical and cultural linkages between the country of origin and the country of destination, the pre-existence of migration networks and selective migration policies applied by EU receiving countries.

International Balkan University is the host of the 7th InTraders International Conference On International Trade, which will take place on May 25-26, 2022 at the IBU Campus. More than 50 participants will present their scientific papers on various topics which will be addressed during the conference.
The opening ceremony of the conference was held on May 25th, May 2022, with keynote speeches by Prof. Dr. Berna Balci Izgi (Gaziantep University, Turkey), Prof. Dr. Adriana Burlea-Schiopoiu (University of Craiova, Romania), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Liza Alili Sulejmani (International Balkan University, North Macedonia).
The conference is organized in partnership with "Biznesi" College from Kosovo and the University of Craiova from Poland.
