IBU INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OFFICE ORGANIZED A SKOPJE TOUR FOR THE ERASMUS+ INCOMING STUDENTS

The Erasmus+ Club from the International Balkan University organized a tour of Skopje on 11 March 2022 for the Erasmus+ Incoming Students in the spring semester 2021/2022.

The Erasmus+ Incoming Students, accompanied by their Student Mentors, visited several of the city’s landmarks, including Yigit Bey Cultural Center, the three remaining Caravanserais – Suli An, Kurshumli An, Kapan An, Bezisten, Chifte Hammam, St. Dimitrija Church, the Stone Bridge, the Ristich Palace, and the Mother Theresa Memorial House.

During the Skopje Tour, the students also experienced some traditional food and beverages from a variety of cultures in Skopje, including the Macedonian dish Tavche Gravche, the Albanian dish Flija and the Turkish dessert Helva. The students also received welcome gifts which included a traditional clay bowl with traditional Macedonian snacks and a ‘Martinka’ for good luck.

In the spring semester, the International Balkan University is a host to 26 incoming students under the Erasmus+ KA103 and KA107 Exchange Program, originating from a variety of countries such as Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Poland, Spain, and Turkey.

ELT STUDENTS VISITED THE AMERICAN CORNER IN SKOPJE

The second-year students from the English Language Teaching department visited the American Corner Skopje on Monday, 14th March 2022. Studenta had the chance to learn all about the activities and opportunities that the ACS offers to everyone interested in learning English.
ℹ️💁🏼‍♀️The IBU CELTA centre and ELT Department are excited to share with you news on the newly-established resource centre, which will provide books📚 on methodology, literature and linguistics for all staff and students of English!

The resource centre is in Block 🅱️, room 1️⃣0️⃣6️⃣ and the working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 to 12.
The Erasmus+ Project “Transversal Skills on Applied Artificial Intelligence” (TSAAI), KA220-HED/Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education, has been awarded a grant from the European Commission. 🇪🇺

International Balkan University is one of the project partners, and Universidad de Malaga from Spain is the main project coordinator. The project duration is 3 years.

The demands for jobs in expert profiles in artificial intelligence have grown considerably in the last three years. The forecast for the next decade is that it will continue to grow and will not be able to be covered with the educational offer that exists today. This demand will not only come from large technology companies, but many new companies (start-ups) will need expert profiles in artificial intelligence.

This project aims to achieve transversal training in Applied Artificial Intelligence for undergraduate students in senior years and graduate students, from different fields and degrees. To achieve this goal, the most demanded professional profiles will be
developed in the business field in terms of Artificial Intelligence in all economic sectors.

➡️In the frame of the course Architectural Design V mentored by Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Andovski the students👩🏼‍🎓 from International Balkan University, the Department of Architecture have visited the Drama Theater🎭 of Skopje, guided by the representative from the institution Mr. Gorjan Donev. For this course, students are designing a project for the New building of "Dramski Teatar" and that was an unique opportunity to collect all necessary data from the existing theater including the specific needs from their staff regarding the new building.☑️

STUDY VISIT FOR 4TH YEAR STUDENTS OF BANKING AND FINANCE AT THE CROATIA INSURANCE - LIFE AD SKOPJE

On Monday, 11th of April 2022, the 4th year students from the department of “Banking and Finance” at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences visited the headquarters of Croatia Insurance - Life AD Skopje. Under guidance of Asst. Prof. Elena Parnardzieva Stanoevska as a part of the subject Insurance, the students had the opportunity to witness the practical functionality and to extensively learn how the Croatia Insurance-Life AD Skopje, as the largest life insurance company on the Macedonian financial market, operates. The hosts, Mr. Slavko Sazdovski, HR Director and Mr. Goran Bozinovski, Sale Director offered more than two hours of presentation to the students with lots of practical examples on the types of life insurance the company offers as well as about its daily financial processes and activities.
