IRO ORGANIZED AN INFODAY AND SKOPJE TOUR FOR THE ERASMUS+ INCOMING STUDENTS
The International Relations Office organized an InfoDay and a tour of Skopje for the Erasmus+ Incoming Students in the spring semester 2020/2021.
On the InfoDay, the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Snezana Bilic, provided the students with information related to the academic calendar, grading system, exam regulations and visa procedures as well as an introduction by the IBU Student Mentors, who were appointed to the Incoming Students in order to facilitate their stay in Skopje.
The next day, the Erasmus+ Incoming Students, accompanied by their Student Mentors, visited several of the city’s landmarks, including: Yigit Bey Cultural Center, the three remaining Caravanserais – Suli An, Kurshumli An and Kapan An, Bezisten, Chifte Hammam, St. Dimitrija Church, the Stone Bridge, the Ristich Palace and the Mother Theresa Memorial House. During the Skopje Tour, the students also experienced some traditional food and beverages from the variety of cultures in Skopje, including the Macedonian dish Tavche Gravche, the Albanian dish Flija and the Turkish dessert Helva. The students also received welcome gifts which included a traditional clay bowl with traditional Macedonian snacks and a ‘Martinka’ for good luck.
In the spring semester, the International Balkan University is a host to 14 incoming students under the Erasmus+ KA103 Exchange Program, originating from a variety of countries such as: Bangladesh, Egypt, Romania, Serbia, Spain and Turkey. We wish the students good luck and an amazing experience in Skopje!

🤝 International Balkan University and Trakya University will extend their cooperation with new joint projects and activities
A delegation from Trakya University headed by Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan Tabakoglu visited the International Balkan University on Tuesday, 23rd March 2021. They were welcomed by the Rector of IBU, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dursun Erdem and the President of the Management Board, Mr. Ajdovan Ademoski. The meeting was honoured with the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Skopje, H.E. Hasan Mehmet Sekizkök. During the meeting, parties shared the satisfaction from the long and close cooperation between the two universities, as well as discussed the upcoming joint projects and activities which will bring benefit for the academia, students and the societies in North Macedonia and Turkey.

President Ademoski and Rector Erdem expressed their gratitude to the Ambassador for his visit and briefed him on the successful management of the educational process at International Balkan University through the Online Learning Platform during the pandemic, as well as on the planned academic and scientific activities during 2021.
Ambassador Sekizkök underlined the importance of the quality, modern methodologies of teaching, scientific research and internationalization of higher education as principles and values conducted by International Balkan University.

International Balkan University (IBU) and Nansen Dialogue Center Skopje signed a Protocol of Cooperation on Wednesday, 24th March 2021. Rector of IBU, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dursun Erdem and the Executive Director of Nansen Dialogue Center Skopje, Mr. Veton Zekolli shared their views and expectations for the future cooperation, which aims to expand the knowledge and skills of staff and students in the area od intercultural education.
