# Fast Monday & Thursday
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“Deeds are shown (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays, and I like my deeds to be shown when I am fasting.”

(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 747; classed as saheeh by al-Albani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 1041)
Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was keen to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.

(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 745; al-Nasai, 2361; Ibn Majah, 1739; classed as saheeh by al-Albani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 1044)

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. It was said:
“O Messenger of Allah, why do you fast on Mondays and Thursdays?” He said: “On Mondays and Thursdays Allah forgives every Muslim except two who have forsaken one another. He says: ‘Leave these two until they reconcile.’”

[ Sunan Ibn Majah 1740 ]

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The gates of Jannah are opened on Mondays and Thursdays, and then every slave (of Allah) is granted forgiveness if he does not associate anything with Allah in worship. But the person in whose heart there is rancour against his (Muslim) brother, they will not be pardoned and with regard to them it will be said twice: 'Hold both of them until they are reconciled with each other."'

[Muslim].

Narrated Sahl:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it."

Ash-Sharif Abu Ja'far Abd al-Khaliq ibn Isa al-Hashimi al-Hanbali (411 AH – 470 AH) and the Hanbalis of his time, in a gathering, pointed towards al-Qushayri and his companions and said:

"What kind of reconciliation can there be between us? Reconciliation only occurs between disputing parties over authority, worldly matters, or a conflict over ownership. But as for these people, they claim that we are disbelievers, and we claim that whoever does not believe what we believe is a disbeliever—so what kind of reconciliation can there be between us?"
“The intention (niyyah) means resolving to fast. It is essential to have the intention the night before, night by night, in Ramadān .”
(Fatawa al-Lajnah al-Dā'imah, 10/246)
The Virtue of Reciting Surah Ad-Dukhān on the Night of Friday

Narrated by Muhammad ibn Al-Mubarak, from Sadaqah ibn Khalid, from Yahya ibn Al-Harith, from Abu Rafi', the Tabi'i (a student of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

"Whoever recites Surah Ad-Dukhān on the night of Friday will wake up forgiven and will be married to the maidens of Paradise."

Musnad Al-Darimi (3484), its chain is authentic.

Three pages that will take only a few minutes.

‏﷽

There is no time for death.

You don't know when you will die.

You could die while reading this message.

You could die tomorrow.

You could die in 40 years.

Allah ﷻ knows best.

This is the beauty of life.

This forces you to live each day as if it is your last.

Every night before you sleep think to yourself "would I be happy to die tonight?"

Be brutally honest.

Live every day as if it is your last.

I don't mean the western meaning of this that you should binge watch the latest 150 anime seasons and drink as much alcohol as you want while partying with whores.

I mean that you should pray to Allah knowing that it could be your last prayer.

One day it will be your last prayer.

Be prepared for it.

Fulfill as many sunnahs as you can.

Enjoin good and forbid evil.

Stand up for yourself.

Spend time with your family.

Give Daw'ah.

Seek knowledge.

Stop scrolling on TikTok.

Stop watching porn.

Stop listening to music.

If you cannot control yourselves, delete the apps that cause you to sin.

Shaitan will whisper the opposite to you.

Shaitan will tell you "one more time won't hurt".

Shaitan will tell you "one more game".

Would Allah ﷻ be pleased if you died in the night you spent playing Fortnite?

I had a guy tell me that I should focus more on school instead of learning about Islam 2 hours each day.

The irony is in those 2 hours he would play video games.

Look at what you use your time for and use it wisely.

Allah sees you.

Pray every Salah as if it is your last, because it might be.

(32:11)

Turn to your Lord before you return to him.

Do you want to receive your record with your right hand or with your left hand?

(74:43-51)

Choose what you occupy yourself with wisely.

Your time is limited.
