Ibn al-Qayyim

‎"If the one giving charity knew that his charity falls in the hand of Allāh before the hand of the poor, the delight of the one giving would be more than the delight of the one taking."

Know that this worldly life is no more than play, amusement, luxury, mutual boasting, and competition in wealth and children. This is like rain that causes plants to grow, to the delight of the planters. But later the plants dry up and you see them wither, then they are reduced to chaff. And in the Hereafter there will be either severe punishment or forgiveness and pleasure of Allah, whereas the life of this world is no more than the delusion of enjoyment.

[Surah Al-Hadid, 57:20]

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allāh and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination."
Allāh does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."

Allāh سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ concludes this sūrah by directing His servants how to supplicate Him, just as He taught them in Sūrah al-Fātiḥah how to praise Him and ask for guidance.

It was narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever recites the last two verses of Sūrah al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him.” (Bukhārī 4008, 807)

It was narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Allah inscribed a book 2,000 years before He created the heavens and the earth, from which the last two verses of Sūrah al-Baqarah were revealed. If they are recited for three nights, no shaytān will remain in the house.” (Tirmidhī)

Narrated Abu Mas’ood al-Ansaari رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ that the Prophet صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said: “Whoever recites the last two verses of Soorat al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him.” (Bukhārī 5009, Muslim 2714)

Ibn al-Qayyim رَحِمَهُ الله said: They will suffice him against any evil that may harm him. (al-Waabil al-Sayyib 132)

It was narrated that ‘Ali رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ said: “I did not think that any sane person could sleep without reciting the last three verses of Soorat al-Baqarah.” (Abi Dawūd)

The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said: “Do not turn your houses into graveyards. Shaytān runs away from the house in which Sūrah al-Baqarah is recited.” (Muslim)

The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said: “Recite Sūrah al-Baqarah. To recite it regularly and adhere to it is a blessing, to give it up is a cause of regret, and the magicians cannot confront it.” (Muslim)

So, where is your tawakkul? If your mom could write out your entire life, she would only write the best for you. So how about Allaah, the One who is more Merciful and loves you more than your mother?
Have you forgotten?

Congratulating the Kuffâr on the rituals that belong only to them is Harâm by Ijmâ', as is congratulating them on their festivals and fasts by saying “A happy festival to you” or “May you enjoy your festival”, and so on.

There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allāh an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allāh and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allāh often.

‼️ Imagine this was your child, your family? Calling out for help? 😢💔

The Prophet ﷺ said,

"You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it."

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah رَحِمَهُ الله said in Majmu‘ al-Fatawa (2/488):

“It is not permissible for the Muslims to imitate them in any way that is unique to their festivals, whether it be food, clothes, bathing, lighting fires or refraining from usual work or worship, and so on. And it is not permissible to give a feast or to exchange gifts or to sell things that help them to celebrate their festivals, or to let children and others play the games that are played on their festivals, or to adorn oneself or put up decorations.

Congratulating Kuffār Their Festivals Would Neither Earn You Their Respect Nor Their Pleasure So Beware Of Losing Your Religion!!

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim Raḥimahullāh said: “And as for congratulating Kuffār on the rituals which are SPECIFIC to them, then it is ḤARĀM (FORBIDDEN) by the AGREEMENT (of Fuqahā), for example congratulating them on their festivals and fasts by saying: ‘A happy festival to you’ or ‘May you enjoy your festival,’ and so on, so if the one who says this has been saved from Kufr, it is STILL FORBIDDEN, and it is like congratulating someone for PROSTRATING to the CROSS, rather that (congratulating Kuffār) is GREATER of a SIN with Allāh.

And it is MORE HATEFUL (to Allāh) than congratulating someone for DRINKING WINE, or MURDERING an INNOCENT SOUL, or COMMITTING ADULTERY, and the likes of it, and many of those who have NO RESPECT for their religion fall into that (error); without REALISING the OFFENSIVENESS of their action, so whoever congratulates a person for his DISOBEDIENCE or BID’AH or KUFR thus exposes himself to the WRATH and ANGER of Allāh.”

As for those who say ‘Well we congratulate disbelievers Christmas and New Year out of courtesy and good manners’, then we say: O Miskeen the Messenger of Allāh Ṣallallāhu-‘Alaihi Wa Sallam and his Companions (Raḍi-Allāhu ‘Anhum) were more courteous and well-mannered than you and I yet they never congratulated Kuffār for their ‘Eīds or New Year.

Sh. Ibn 'Uthaymeen Raḥimahullāh said:

“Wishing disbelievers Christmas or other religious festivals of theirs is ḤARĀM (IMPERMISSIBLE) by the AGREEMENT (of scholars).”

And last but not least remember this 👇

“Never will the Jews nor the Christians be PLEASED with you TILL you FOLLOW their RELIGION. Say: 'Verily, the Guidance of Allāh (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) that is the (only) Guidance. And if you (O Muḥammad, Peace be upon him) were to follow their (Jews and Christians) desires after what you have received of Knowledge (i.e. the Qur’ān), then you would have against Allāh neither any Walī (protector or guardian) nor any helper.” — [al-Qur’ān 2:120]

Do not speak without Knowledge

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ said:

And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned. [Sahīh International Translation]

Ash-Shaykh Al-Imām Ibn Kathīr رَحِمَهُ الله says in his Tafsīr:

'Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn 'Abbas said: "This means) do not say (anything of which you have no knowledge)."

Al-'Awfi said: "Do not accuse anyone of that of which you have no knowledge."

Muhammad bin Al-Hanafiyyah said: "It means bearing false witness."

Qatadah said: "Do not say, I have seen', when you did not see anything, or I have heard', when you did not hear anything, or I know', when you do not know, for Allah will ask you about all of that."

In conclusion, what they said means that Allah forbids speaking without knowledge and only on the basis of suspicion, which is mere imagination and illusions. As Allah says:

(Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions are sins.) 49:12 According to a Hadith:

«إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّنَفَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكذب الْحَديث»
(Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the falsest of speech.) The following Hadith is found in Sunan Abu Dawud:

«بِئْسَ مَطِيَّةُ الرَّجُلِ: زَعَمُوا»
(What an evil habit it is for a man to say, They claimed...') According to another Hadith:

«إِنَّ أَفْرَى الْفِرَى أَنْ يُرِيَ الرَّجُلُ عَيْنَيْهِ مَا لَمْ تَرَيَا»
(The worst of lies is for a man to claim to have seen something that he has not seen.)
