John 21:18:
"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not."
John 21:19: "This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me."
"Follow me"
This said Jesus to his disiple Peter after he had told him that one day Peter would be killed for following Jesus.
"Follow me"
And Peter did exactly that. He followed Jesus no matter the sacrifice.
In the face of persecution, he followed Jesus.
Peter knew that Jesus was the way the truth and the life,
so he fough the good fight, and he loved Jesus more than his own life.
Peter was later crucified for following Jesus.
But he won eternal life!
Jesus says:
Follow me, I am the way the truth and the life
