Do you know the story behind the Norwegian flag?

From around 1600 the Danish flag 🇩🇰 was used in Norway because Norway was in union with Denmark.

But in 1814 Norway proclaimed independence and put a lion in the flag.

It did not last long before Norway came under Sweden instead. 🇸🇪

In 1821 it was decided that the Norwegian flag would look like this 🇳🇴

But it was not until 1905 that Norway got completely independent.

Because of that and because Norway was occupied by the Germans during WW2, Norwegians appreciate their country and are very patriotic. 🇳🇴🇳🇴

God Himself revealed the plan around 800 years in advance when He told us that;

•He Himself will come and die on a cross for our sins.

•He will bear our iniquities.

•He is going to take our penalty.

Words comes to an end when seeing such a love.

No wonder that the apostle John almost 900 years later exclaims;

“Behold what love the Father has showed on us, that we should be called the children of God.” (1 John 3:1)
