We at Elim Missions were saddened to learn that Brenda Griffiths went to be with the Lord just before Christmas.
Brenda, along with her husband Peter, served as an Elim Missionary in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia) for many years. Brenda and Peter, along with Joy Bath, were on furlough in the UK in 1978 when the Vumba Massacre took place. They courageously returned and continued to serve in Zimbabwe following the massacre. Brenda and Peter's work, as well as that of their martyred colleagues, is told powerfully by their son Stephen in his book "The Axe and the Tree."
We thank God for Brenda's life and ministry, and we pray for the comfort of the Holy Spirit for her family and friends as they grieve.
The thanksgiving service will be at 11am on the 15th at St Andrew’s Church, Hatters Lane, High Wycombe, HP13 7NJ. There will be a reception afterwards at Christ the Servant King Church, Sycamore Rd, Booker, High Wycombe HP12 4TJ.
