Indian National has assaulted a female airport staff at Perth airport.

while waiting to check in for a flight to Bali.

A female staffer told the man he would not be allowed to board the plane over his behaviour.

The man left the area before returning, jumping the counter and slapping the woman in the face.

He then grabbed her by the throat, knocked her to the ground and proceeded to kick her, the Australian Federal Police said in a statement.

Two witnesses intervened to stop the man before he was arrested by AFP officers shortly after.

The female airport worker needed medical attention.
