BEML Limited has signed three licensing agreements with DRDO’s VRDE to locally manufacture important mobility and support equipment for the Indian Army’s Armoured Corps.
The equipment includes:
UMV (Unmanned Mobile Vehicle) for Arjun Main Battle Tank (MBT)
URV (Unmanned Recovery Vehicle) for MBT Arjun
70-Tonne Tank Transporter Trailer
The official handover of agreements took place on June 7, 2025, at VRDE headquarters in Ahmednagar.
The documents were handed over by Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman, DRDO.
This collaboration strengthens India's defence self-reliance and supports the "Make in India" initiative.
