On June 25, 2025, IDRI successfully organized the workshop βToward a Khmer Foundation Model: The Role of Downstream Tasks and Community Contributionsβ at CADT, bringing together contributors from across the AI communityβPhD, masterβs, and bachelor students, as well as members from the private and public sectors.
The workshop focused on showcasing community-driven downstream tasks that support the development of Khmer LLMs. It emphasized the importance of building our own tools for the Khmer language, rather than relying on closed, commercial models.
