🌌 How stablecoins work

Stablecoins are digital assets designed to mimic the rate of fiat currencies. It allows traders to transfer stable assets around the world cheaply and quickly.

They are stable against cryptocurrencies, which are of high volatility.

Stablecoin types:

🔵 Fiat-backed stablecoins are backed 1:1 by fiat currency. A central issuer keeps fiat collateral in reserve and issues the proportional number of stablecoins.
🔵 Crypto-backed stablecoins are backed by another cryptocurrency as collateral.
🔵 Algorithmic stablecoins do not use fiat or cryptocurrency as collateral.
