Last month Chamath Palihapitiya said something really mesmerizing in response to SEC actions and Coinbase’s move offshore.

“Crypto is dead in America. You had Gensler (note: Gary Gensler, the chair of the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission) even blaming the banking crisis on crypto. The United States authorities have firmly pointed their guns at crypto”

"I actually really like Chamath Palihapitiya, a supporter of bitcoin as early as 2013, but this is equivalent to saying the internet is dead in America. Crypto, like the internet, actively shifts the entire global paradigm. It would be nice to know what metrics he's using to proclaim the death of crypto in America. Chamath is incredibly smart, so I'm assuming he's postulating that the constant baseless claims and increasingly aggressive tactics coming down from Gensler and the SEC will continue to amplify, create more disruption, and the eventual relocation of exchanges with services to deposit and withdrawal USD from US banks."
