I have done none illustrative commissions in what feels like ages (for about six months? or more than that? or less than that? hoo boy) so it's kinda been refreshing to get back in the saddle and do as I figured what I do best. The story of how I ended up with a commission despite my ongoing hiatus w bigger pieces is quite tedious but all you folks need to know is that yours truly has a full Adobe package for a year, a happy customer and an interesting pic themed by 50s mobster business in the making!

So here's a side-by-side comparison of PFTL and IDCoW's Evans and Burke. In case it hasn't been obvious, they are different! Sharing some traits in common though. Guess I should make sty post some written stuff in discord since our Patreon is closed now and there's literally no other place you could check on any info regarding said uh projects and characters

Spent some time on figuring how to make my brain avoid usual pipeline so I could offer relatively cheap commissions with a quicker turnaround than my regular, requiring dozen steps of preparation and polishing, stuff. I miss working on bigger pieces but as of yet I can't offer those to public hence me being pretty discreet about my openings lol I really admire artists who can make simpler stuff work but, as much as I try, I personally end up liking my elaborate pieces better. Art is hard and I hate it so much sometimes ahashfh

And frankly said elaborate pieces I adore are kinda on a verge of complete reshaping right now. The thing is that I have this annoying hitch called not liking the way I do things, a scourge of artists. And this... this has been calling for a change
This portrait of Evans is uh if my memory doesn't fail me is almost a year old now, so I thought it'll provide a fine example especially if I attach a newer one (not properly finished but still!) next to it. Took me long enough to gain these little crumbs of courage of establishing what personally I, as an artist, would enjoy seeing from my art

Tearing myself apart by doing several things at once. Seems to be... awry haha Hoping not to get burnt out. Time flies when every day's the same. Here have a bunch of recent in-stream commissions

Something less wild (angle wise) for the second batch. Fancy clothes, fancy clothes, fancy clothes. 2 outta 3

Taking a few days off always makes me feel guilty to the point I'm weirded out by the fact I'm not working as my regular self lol Well sure I do some work off stream, like I have portraits of Burke and Evans I'm frustrating over right now (ugh), but I work on some minor stuff as well.
The idea of creating a talking sprite for streaming needs has been haunting me for the past year or so (still does though), however life's been pretty stressful so I had little to no time or inner resources to get one. Glad I finally made it here.
I'm definitely not gonna animate it from scratch like most of 2D vtubers do, as it means I have to step into unknown waters called new software for uh who-knows-how-many-months-this-will-take, BUTTT a 3D avatar is underway as we speak. That is most likely that I'll spend quite some time on its polishing and rigging, as character modelling isn't quite my field. Besides, time has shown if you act in haste, you risk big time, so I'm gonna take it slow haha
On top of that, we finally rearranged my main gallery (that is FA), clearing up some of the old stuff so things are neat and clean for once. This little spring cleaning (in June, yeah) of ours got me and sty thinking that it would be nice to get a couple of our projects some meaningful names. Something thoughtful, like we did with I Don't Come on Wednesdays, rather than a bunch of letters and uh, the name of an island pft
So that's that!
