Christmas season has already started and even though many of you might have a stressful pre- Christmas period, we hope that the cozy atmosphere and Christmas spirit will catch up with you soon enough and you can enjoy some Christmas snacks and spend some time with your friends and family! 🤩🎄

However, this time of the year is also the time to be thankful for what you have and to share with others. Many of you consider AEGEE as a cheap way to travel, exchange your ideas with people from all the corners of Europe and make a change with them. But imagine if it wasn't so easy to reach the destination of your next event? Would AEGEE be still the same for you if you couldn't afford to go to any Agorae or EPM? We want to make sure that everyone can have the possibility to take part in this experience and that's why we need your help to spread the spirit of solidarity and keep AEGEE as an inclusive place for everyone! 🔁

Model European Parliament of AEGEE 2020! 🇪🇺

It is our great pleasure to open up the call for a hosting local of the very first official Model European Parliament simulation of AEGEE-Europe! Working Groups of AEGEE-Europe CEWG; ECWG; ERWG; YDWG want to organize this simulation around the four current Focus Areas of AEGEE in 2020, May.

MEP of AEGEE will take place from Thursday 21st of May until Sunday 24th of May and will engage both AEGEEans and externals to take parts in discussions and imagine, how it feels like to be a part of European Parliament. 🗣

Dear AEGEEans!

We’re hoping that this message finds you well and that you are ready for a new year full of events! 🎉

Who are we? 🤔

We are the members of EQAC (Events Quality Assurance Committee) and our main goal is to improve the quality and impact of all the events listed in the Calendar of Events of AEGEE-Europe. That can be achieved by assisting, supporting, and training organisers of European events, AEGEE Events and AEGEE-Europe Events and by leading the assessment and evaluation process before and after each event.

Long story short: all European events that you want to organise should be submitted and approved by EQAC on MyAEGEE (except SUs).

To get your event approved you need to follow the events approval criteria!


How to do that? 🤔

🔹At least two months before the event you must submit:
🔹The budget of the event, which must also include resources for at least two meals a day;
🔹The draft programme of the event;
🔹The planned accommodation of the event.

The required information mentioned above should be sent to eqac@aegee.eu!

Be aware that cancellation of the event has to be notified to AEGEE-Europe 3 weeks in advance.


▶️ Please keep in mind that after you send the documents, it might take some days for the EQAC team to assess them, so have patience and try to send the necessities sometime in advance before the application period starts.

The trainers should be experienced and knowledgeable in the field of gender mainstreaming and non-formal education. This training is part of the HerMainY project, which is funded by the European Youth Foundation.

The training event will take place from 2-9 March 2020 in Moscow, Russia. The activity aims at increasing the knowledge and skills regarding gender mainstreaming measures in communication in local organisations.

What is happening?

Ukraine, a big country within Europe with little AEGEE representation. Do you want to change it?

Perfect, so do we! We are here to unlock their potential. In this project we want to send a team of AEGEEans as ambassadors to different cities throughout the country. We want to bring the AEGEE spirit to these cities to found new contacts there. For this we search for a team willing to organise the project itself.

Who are we looking for?

For someone who is ready to...

👉 Have regular skype calls with the whole team
👉 Identify potential places for new contacts
👉 Get in touch with universities, other organizations and partners
👉 Identify potential funding for the project
👉 Help to find the final team going to Ukraine (or even to go by yourself)
👉 Assist the traveling ambassadors as well as the local contacts in the respective cities during the whole trip, the preparation and the aftermath

This year we want to include as much content as possible into the Summer University project. As the SU project has been given some Interrail passes, we would like to give them to trainers in order to help us achieve contentful SU's.

So do you have the time this summer to travel around Europe, develop yourself more as a trainer, give plenty of hours training and visit several Summer Universities? Then this is your chance to go for it.

What we expect of you:

The ambassadors of Europe on Track will end their 7th journey, with the central theme of ‘Social Inclusion: From Gender Equality to Mental Health’, in Leiden from the 16th till the 19th of April. During this final conference, we will raise awareness of Mental Health issues, and provide you with interesting and useful knowledge on the topic in collaboration with the Youth Development Working Group and professional external organizations. MINT aims to train participants - who are trainers - on acquiring a mental health perspective during their work and role as a trainer. The program will include sessions during which you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to work including a mental health perspective when working with co-trainers, dealing with participants, and when preparing yourself to deliver sessions and courses and taking care of yourself during them.

During the training you will contribute to develop a set of guidelines on how to integrate a mental health perspective in non-formal education.

The course is co-funded by the European Youth Foundation.

After many years in development, MyAEGEE is up and running! To keep it like this, and to make the old Intranet of AEGEE abundant once and for all, we want to improve, to strengthen and to expand our new Intranet system.

We would like to invite you to the first MyAEGEE hACkathon which will happen from 5-8 March.
