โ€‹During the SPM Kรถln there was a group of people initiating something unprecedented. Given the state of the environment, society and economy in Europe, we would like to see sustainability with itโ€™s three pillars (environmental, social, economic) mainstream in AEGEE. We want to do that by creating a Sustainability Manifesto in the Strategic Plan. โœŠ

๐Ÿ’กThis can also be an opportunity to link the Sustainable Development Goals to what we do, so we can measure our contributions towards the SDGs.

But who is this โ€œweโ€? All of us. ๐Ÿ™‹
We have created an initial timeline in order to be ready for Agora Salerno, but we NEED YOU to make it happen! We are looking for enthusiastic AEGEEans that want to be part of the Task Force.

โœ๏ธ The task force will be drafting and writing the first text and modifying it based on the feedback from the network. The task forceโ€™s first meeting will take place on 21st of July at 21h CEST. ๐Ÿ“… If you want to be a part of it, write the date in your agenda, as we wonโ€™t make a selection - anyone interested can join by filling out this form.

โญ We leave you with what could be the beginning of such manifesto:
โ€œWe, the people of AEGEE, meeting at the Autumn Agora Salerno 2019, acknowledge that we have the moral responsibility to make Europe and the world a better place for the current and future generations.โ€

Dear Network,

As you may have heard through Basecamp and the Yo!News, the European Commission launched an online survey a few weeks ago, which aims to explore the role of NGOs and networks in supporting youth participation in democratic life in the EU.

๐Ÿ”น Carried out by Ecorys, the survey will help gather new evidence on how young people engage in decision making at European, national and local levels, and to better understand the value and contribution of EU funding. It will also examine the new trends in participation, including the role of online youth movements.

๐Ÿ”น The survey is part of a wider European Commission initiative to inform the rollout of the European Youth Strategy 2019-2027, and in particular the objective of โ€˜Engagingโ€™ with young people.

The survey is open to all youth NGOs and networks operating within Europe, and will run until 16/08/2018. Please select the link below to take part:

Recalling the student movement of 1950 and the studentsโ€™ march via Franco-German border to Strasbourg, AEGEE is still the organization striving for borderless and united Europe. However, in reality, people in Europe still face challenges when crossing borders. Mobility barriers often are being underestimated. Their existence creates huge inequality among young Europeans, disturbing their plans for work, education, volunteering, or leisure.

We do believe that it needs to change. And we want to start taking steps already now to achieve the desired goal.

๐Ÿ”Ž As a first step we are looking for researchers and analysts who will assist us in the following tasks:

1โƒฃ Creating a proper form for the deep questionnaire among AEGEE members concerning any administrative barriers which they have ever faced when travelling;

2โƒฃ Analysis and clear interpretation of the answers.

๐Ÿ”ธ Research skills are welcomed, but all interested people can join the team and contribute to the creation of the project.

Based on the results of the research further on we are going to explore the possibilities of launching a campaign aiming to reduce mobility barriers, educate members on visa procedures and ease the procedures as much as possible.

Application form: https://forms.gle/77p7eJPv1Cf5fVsD9
DEADLINE: 08/09/2019 - 23:59 CEST.

Yours,

Visa Research Task Force
