#HELPNEEDED

Dear AEGEEans!

We need your help! Or rather, our planet needs your help. 🌍 The month of December marks the beginning of the new European Commission led by incoming president Ursula von der Leyen. In the agenda she set for her term in office, she promised to deliver a European "Green New Deal" (the "European Green Deal") to tackle the climate crisis Europe and the whole planet is undergoing.

As today is the first week of December, and as part of the coalition Generation Climate Europe AEGEE is founding member of, we decided to write a statement with two of our main demands and launch the social media campaign "#DontPaintItGreen" to make sure that European decision-makers meet our demands and act with the urgency that the situation requires. ⚠️

To make sure that we are loud and clear, we need the support of as many AEGEEans, AEGEE locals and European Bodies as possible to make noise on your social media.

But how can you take part in this campaign? πŸ€”

It's really simple: you only need to share the post below and follow the steps below. We prepared some resources for all of you to take part as easily as it gets. The only thing you need to do is to make sure that you make a post on your personal social media and that of your local/European Body by Friday (6th) the latest and follow the four short steps below:

1️⃣ Add the visual we prepared on your posts on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

2️⃣ Add the link to our statement. Feel free to quote certain parts in your post. ➑️ https://gceurope.org/pdfs/2019-12-joint-statement.pdf

3️⃣ Always use the hashtag #DontPaintItGreen but feel free to also use others such as e.g #EuropeanGreenDeal

4️⃣ Always tag the European Commission social media and those of Generation Climate Europe and AEGEE-Europe!

The climate crisis is the biggest challenge not only for the planet as a whole but particularly for our generation, as we will be the ones facing its consequences the most. We young people need to make sure that our voices are heard and taken into account, and for that, we have to be loud and clear, but most importantly, we need to be united!

Together we are more, and together we will make sure that Europe is at the forefront of the fight against climate crisis! πŸ’ͺ🏼

What does the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum do for us? πŸ€”

During the last month the AEGEE Eastern Partnership Project participated in the Annual Assembly of the Eastern Partnership Project Civil Society Forum (EaP CsF).

Christmas season has already started and even though many of you might have a stressful pre- Christmas period, we hope that the cozy atmosphere and Christmas spirit will catch up with you soon enough and you can enjoy some Christmas snacks and spend some time with your friends and family! πŸ€©πŸŽ„

However, this time of the year is also the time to be thankful for what you have and to share with others. Many of you consider AEGEE as a cheap way to travel, exchange your ideas with people from all the corners of Europe and make a change with them. But imagine if it wasn't so easy to reach the destination of your next event? Would AEGEE be still the same for you if you couldn't afford to go to any Agorae or EPM? We want to make sure that everyone can have the possibility to take part in this experience and that's why we need your help to spread the spirit of solidarity and keep AEGEE as an inclusive place for everyone! πŸ”

For that reason, we invite everyone to make a donation to the AEGEE Social Responsibility Fund (ASRF), so that we can help more and more of our members with covering their statutory event fees!

Bank details:

Bank: ING Belgium

SWIFT: BBRUBEBB
IBAN: BE 34 31 01 5862 4590

IMPORTANT: Please indicate in the description that you are donating to ASRF (AEGEE Social Responsibility Fund)!

#EQAC

Dear AEGEEans!

We’re hoping that this message finds you well and that you are ready for a new year full of events! πŸŽ‰

Who are we? πŸ€”

We are the members of EQAC (Events Quality Assurance Committee) and our main goal is to improve the quality and impact of all the events listed in the Calendar of Events of AEGEE-Europe. That can be achieved by assisting, supporting, and training organisers of European events, AEGEE Events and AEGEE-Europe Events and by leading the assessment and evaluation process before and after each event.

Long story short: all European events that you want to organise should be submitted and approved by EQAC on MyAEGEE (except SUs).

To get your event approved you need to follow the events approval criteria!

How to do that? πŸ€”

πŸ”ΉAt least two months before the event you must submit:
πŸ”ΉThe budget of the event, which must also include resources for at least two meals a day;
πŸ”ΉThe draft programme of the event;
πŸ”ΉThe planned accommodation of the event.

The required information mentioned above should be sent to eqac@aegee.eu!

Be aware that cancellation of the event has to be notified to AEGEE-Europe 3 weeks in advance.

▢️ Please keep in mind that after you send the documents, it might take some days for the EQAC team to assess them, so have patience and try to send the necessities sometime in advance before the application period starts.

If you have any questions regarding the organisation of events in AEGEE, feel free to contact us!

Also, you can find us on:

πŸ”Ήhttps://www.facebook.com/AEGEE.Events/
