CIO Series 22: Navigating Trade Turbulence with Insights from Japan
Amid the global trade turmoil, Japan likely has the best understanding of the issues at hand. US and Japan engaged in extensive trade disputes in the 1980s, which culminated in the 1985 Plaza Accord and significantly changed the global trade and currency systems. History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes.
What lessons can we learn from Japan's experience, and how might they apply to the current US-China trade war?
How is Japan responding to Trump's tariffs now?
And what risks and opportunities lie in the Japanese stock market?
For our next CIO Series, we’ll speak with Daiwa Asset Management about their perspectives on the turbulence caused by Trump’s tariffs..
Participants can download the Microsoft Teams app to access the live caption translation feature.
