Futures Trading Update
BMD relaunches its revamped Single Stock Futures (SSF)

1️⃣ Bursa Malaysia Derivatives relaunches its revamped single stock futures (SSF) contract on March 24.

2️⃣ The SSF contract is based on the constituents of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI), comprising the 30 largest companies on the Main Market. SSF is a futures contract that allows traders to speculate on the future price of a single stock.

3️⃣ The contract size has been reduced to 100 shares per contract, making it more accessible to a wider range of investors.

4️⃣ The initial margin is now set at a low 10% of the contract value, reducing the capital outlay required.

5️⃣ Position limits have been increased to 13,500 contracts across all contract months, providing greater portfolio management flexibility.

6️⃣ Trading hours are Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 5.15pm, covering both morning and afternoon sessions.

7️⃣ Interested traders are advised to understand the product, assess own risk appetite, and stay informed of market trends.
