US stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher. At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.21%, while the S&P 500 index climbed 0.63%, and the NASDAQ Composite index gained 1.52%. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1,516 to 1241 and 87 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1,809 rose and 1,490 declined, while 131 ended unchanged.
