S&P 500 rose for a third day on Monday, as a sharp climb in shares of Tesla overshadowed weakness in energy and bank stocks, while Russia and Ukraine were poised to hold their first face-to-face peace talks in more than two weeks.
At close, Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.27% to 34,955.89, the S&P 500 gained 0.71% to 4,575.52 and the Nasdaq Composite added 1.31%, to 14,354.90.

ASIAN STOCKS:
Asian-Pacific shares were mixed in Wednesday trade as investors watch for developments surrounding the war in Ukraine. South Korea’s Kospi advanced 0.35%. In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 climbed 0.86%. Japanese stocks lagged the broader region as the Nikkei 225 slipped 0.75%.
The Nifty futures were trading up 201.20 points at 17,589.80 at 8:31 AM IST in Singapore.

TNS MARKET ROUNDUP: Stocks, Rupee, Bond end up on de-escalating Russia-Ukraine conflict

STOCKS:
The Indian stock indices, Nifty and Sensex ended up on Wednesday on progress in peace talks between Russia and Ukraine improved investor appetite for riskier assets. The benchmark indices rose for a third day on trot to their highest since mid-February, led by auto makers. The 30-share Sensex closed 740.34 points or 1.28% higher at 58,683.99 on the BSE, while the 50-stock Nifty gained 172.95 points or 1% to close at 17,498.25 on the NSE.

EUROPEAN STOCKS:
European stocks retreated on Wednesday following the latest round of talks between Russia and Ukraine, aimed at finding a solution to the conflict, CNBC reported on Wednesday.
US stock futures dipped slightly Wednesday after stocks extended their rally in the previous session, even as fears of an inverted yield curve sparked recession concerns and investors continued watching developments play out in Ukraine.

RUPEE:
The Indian currency ended up tracking weakness in dollar index and inflows into local stocks on positive risk sentiments.
Rupee in spot market ended at Rs 75.91/$1 Wednesday compared to previous close of Rs 75.98/$1.

FORWARD PREMIA:
The premium on dollar/rupee forward contract maturing in one year ended flat on Wednesday as both exporters and importers remained on the sideline ahead of year-end.
On annualised basis, premium on one year exact month dollar/rupee contract ended at 3.79% on Wednesday versus 3.79% at close on Tuesday.

GILTS:
Government bond prices ended up on Wednesday due to easing US Treasury yield and Brent crude oil prices currently trading near $112/bbl.
The 6.54%-2032 bond ended at Rs 98.2600 or 6.7841% yield compared with Rs 98.1000 or 6.8070% yield at open on Wednesday and Rs 98.0000 or 6.8214% yield at close on Tuesday.

CRUDE OIL:
Brent crude oil futures traded at $112.04 a barrel at 4:15 PM IST on Wednesday.

TNS MARKET ROUNDUP: Stocks end down on profit booking, Rupee up on IPO flows; Bonds fall

The Indian stock indices, Nifty and Sensex on Thursday finished lower, halting three straight sessions of gains in volatile trade. The domestic indices swung between gains and losses during the intraday deals before settling in the red amid the expiry of futures and options (F&O) contracts for March. The 30-share Sensex closed 115.48 points or 0.20% lower at 58,568.51 on the BSE, while the 50-stock Nifty lost 33.50 points or 0.19% to close at 17,464.75 on the NSE.

European stocks were mixed on the last trading day of March, a month marked by global geopolitical and economic uncertainty after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, CNBC reported on Thursday.

Government bond prices ended down on Thursday as market participants remained cautious ahead of the release of government's H1FY23 market borrowing calendar.
The 6.54%-2032 bond ended at Rs 97.8500 or 6.8431% yield compared with Rs 98.3300 or 6.7743% yield at open on Thursday and Rs 98.2600 or 6.7841% yield at close on Wednesday.

US STOCKS:
U.S. stocks slumped to close out the first quarter on Thursday with its biggest quarterly decline in two years as concerns persisted about the continuing conflict in Ukraine and its inflationary effect on prices and the Federal Reserve's response.
At close, Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.56% to 34,678.35, the S&P 500 lost 1.57% to 4,530.41 and Nasdaq Composite dropped 1.54%, to 14,220.52.

Asia-Pacific shares fell Friday morning following overnight losses on Wall Street, with investors looking ahead to the release of a private survey on Chinese manufacturing activity in March. The Nikkei 225 slipped 1.29%, as shares of SoftBank Group dropped more than 2%, while the Topix index fell 1.2%.

The S&P 500 rose modestly to kick off the second quarter on Friday, as the monthly jobs report indicated a strong labor market and is likely to keep the Federal Reserve on track to maintain its hawkish policy stance.
At close, Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.4% to 34,818.27, the S&P 500 gained 0.34% to 4,545.86 and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.29%, to 14,261.50.

Asian share markets got off to a cautious start on Monday amid talk of yet more sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, while bond markets continued to sound the risk of a hard landing for the US economy as short-term yields surged. A holiday on China made for sluggish trading, and MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan dipped 0.1%. Japan's Nikkei was flat, while S&P 500 stock futures eased 0.2% and Nasdaq futures 0.3%.
