#SGDengueUpdate Over 4,500 dengue cases have been reported this year, and there are currently 12 active dengue clusters. Although recent weekly dengue cases have been lower than during the same period in 2020, we should all continue to stay vigilant, to prevent a year-end rise in dengue cases amid higher circulation of less common Dengue virus serotype 3 (DENV-3)! Learn how you can prevent Aedes mosquitoes from breeding in your home: www.nea.gov.sg/dengue-zika/prevent-aedes-mosquito-breedin
#SGWeather Have you ever been caught in the rain with the sun still shining? This meteorological phenomenon is known as sunshowers. This also means that the possibility of spotting a rainbow is high, if the sun is at a low angle in the sky 🌈

This Halloween, let’s lock away our ghastly habits that harm the environment!

When dabao-ing food from #OurHawkerCentres, remember to bring your own reusable containers and #SayYEStoWasteLess!

P.S. If you have elderly family members or neighbours, check if they need help to dabao their meals, so that they can stay home and stay safe.
#RecycleRight Tip: Flatten cardboard boxes, even smaller ones such as tissues boxes. This gives you more room in your recycling corner, and frees up space in the recycling bin! #3Rs
Don’t forget to clear any water collected in containers in your toilets as these can become hotspots for mosquito breeding. By turning over these containers and wiping dry their rims, we will greatly reduce the chances of mosquito breeding in stagnant water found in our homes.

Follow the ‘Check and Protect’ checklist for a thorough #MozzieWipeout today, and help to #BLOCKDengue: go.gov.sg/dengue-checklist

Up to 5 fully vaccinated persons can dine in together from 23 Nov at an initial batch of 11 hawker centres, in line with MTF’s announcement on 20 Nov 2021. Remaining hawker centres are expected to be ready for 5-pax dine-in by 30 Nov. Instead of dining out, dabao some delicious hawker fare for elderly family members or neighbours so that they can stay home and stay safe.

Remember to bring your along reusable containers to reduce single-use disposables. #BYO #SayYEStoWasteLess
Should you use an ultraviolet steriliser at home? No, it is not advisable.

Ultraviolet C (UVC) sterilisers use radiation to kill germs and viruses. However, if you are accidentally exposed to this radiation, you may be at risk of eye and skin injuries. Many sterilisers marketed for home use, lack the safety features that protect you from unintended exposure to UVC radiation. It’s sales galore, with #BlackFriday, #CyberMonday, and the 12.12 sales coming up in the next few weeks, but before tapping on the check out button, ask yourself: “Do I really need this?”

For instance, if your current electronic device isn’t working, try sending it for repair, to save it from the landfill. And if it is beyond repair, don’t forget to drop it in a recycle bin. More at https://go.gov.sg/nea-recycle-e-waste

It’s finally that time of year to pull out our festive decorations! Rather than buy new decorations each year, keep them to be reused each year --  they never go out of style 😊 #SayYEStoWasteLess #3Rs

Today is the first anniversary of the UNESCO inscription for Singapore’s Hawker Culture, so let’s come together to celebrate, support, and safeguard #OurHawkerCulture!

#DidYouKnow many of our hawker dishes originated from the food cultures of different immigrant groups who settled in Singapore? Over time, they have evolved to become the distinctive local dishes that we love, and form an important part of our food heritage.

Head down to your favourite hawker stall this week to show your support!
