Have you emptied out your flower pot plates after watering your plants today? These plates tend to collect water, and can become mosquito breeding habitats if left unattended. Be sure to add emptying out the flower pot plates to your “To-do List” after watering your plants! Here’s a checklist for a thorough #MozzieWipeout: https://go.gov.sg/dengue-checklist
Sudden rain showers are common in Singapore, so if you leave your pails or plant pots where they can collect water, do pay extra attention and drain these containers if they have collected any water.

No, enforcement will not be taken against the elderly or children, who are unable to clear the tables themselves. These groups would typically be unable to order and bring food to the tables on their own to begin with, and would probably have someone to accompany them. If you’re dining out with the elderly or children, do help them clear their tables. Have more questions about the table littering enforcement, which will be commencing tomorrow? We are aware of a post circulating via WhatsApp about hawker centres being closed today. This is a usual list referring to hawker centres that are closed for regular spring cleaning and Repairs & Redecoration works. Routine spring cleaning is conducted quarterly, and can vary in duration from 1 to 3 days. Regular cleaning will enhance the cleanliness of our hawker centres, allowing patrons to dine in a clean, hygienic and safe environment. Refer to our NEA website to find out which centres are closed before heading out - https://www.nea.gov.sg/our-services/hawker-management
The ozone layer is constantly under threat due to an increase in ozone-depleting gases, putting our Earth at risk of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet radiation.
This World Ozone Day, let us remind each other to make a conscious effort to reduce our carbon footprint!
We can’t leave out the signature carrot cake when talking about #OurHawkerCulture, and no, we don’t mean the dessert! Also known as Chai Tow Kway, this savoury dish is made from rice flour and radish.

NEA Enforcement Officers, including those from our appointed Service Provider, are legally permitted under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) to ask for your NRIC to take enforcement action against you. Don't worry, your personal particulars will be kept confidential.

Stay tuned as we answer some common questions on enforcement for environmental public health, including offences such as littering, smoking at prohibited places and mosquito breeding.

For questions on table littering enforcement, hear from SMS(SE) Amy Khor in our #AskMeNEAnything video at: https://www.youtu.be/SIjFLBUtaH4
The recent rise in COVID-19 cases has seen seniors at higher risk of developing serious health complications, if infected. If you have elderly family members or friends, remind them not to mingle and to order takeaways instead of dining in.

When visiting #OurHawkerCentres and markets, comply with Safe Management Measures (SMMs) to keep our community safe. There has been feedback that groups tend to linger and lapse into SMM breaches at specific hawker centres, and we have stepped up enforcement at these places.

Some offenders start picking up their litter when they see our Enforcement Officers approaching. This does not mean that the offence can be written off. Remember to properly dispose of your litter in bins at all times, or hold onto it until a bin is available. #keepSGclean
