Reducing vehicular emissions and noise is an important aspect of safeguarding public health. From 6 Apr 2023, local motorcycles registered before 1 Jul 2003 will need to meet tightened in-use emission standards. Owners of such local motorcycles are encouraged to tap on the early de-registration incentive of up to $3,500, which was announced in 2018 alongside plans for the tightened standards.

Some owners may wish to keep older motorcycles as a classic vehicle, and we are exploring a temporary scheme allowing for these motorcycles to be retained, until they are eligible for the Classic Vehicle Scheme.

They reveal that in 2020, Singapore's overall waste generated decreased for a 4th consecutive year, resulting in less waste being sent to Semakau Landfill.
