Let’s be considerate when paying respects to our ancestors this Qing Ming, by keeping our public spaces clean. Use burners and containers when burning joss paper, and don’t leave behind any food offerings or litter.

As crowds are expected at Choa Chu Kang Cemetery and government-managed columbaria, visitors are advised to send 2 representatives per household (with not more than 8 pax per group), and to visit during weekdays when it is less crowded. Visitors who are driving to Mandai Columbarium during peak days (2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18 Apr), are also reminded to book an e-appointment. More at www.nea.gov.sg/qingming2021
Reducing vehicular emissions and noise is an important aspect of safeguarding public health. From 6 Apr 2023, local motorcycles registered before 1 Jul 2003 will need to meet tightened in-use emission standards. Owners of such local motorcycles are encouraged to tap on the early de-registration incentive of up to $3,500, which was announced in 2018 alongside plans for the tightened standards.

Some owners may wish to keep older motorcycles as a classic vehicle, and we are exploring a temporary scheme allowing for these motorcycles to be retained, until they are eligible for the Classic Vehicle Scheme.

From 1 Apr 2023, we will also be adopting the latest United Nations (UN) noise standards for all vehicles. More details at https://go.gov.sg/emission-noise-standards-07042021

There have been hailstones in SG, with the last reported sighting in Jan 2018, but how do they come about? Formed when raindrops freeze at high levels, hailstones usually melt before reaching us, except times when very strong downdrafts drive them down before they melt.
It’s #EarthDay! This year’s theme is #RestoreOurEarth and take climate action. With rising temperatures and rising sea levels, we too are feeling the effects of climate change in Singapore.

So, what can we do to reduce our carbon footprint and help fight climate change? Start with any eco-friendly action, such as reducing the amount of waste we generate, volunteering for environmental activities, or using energy efficient appliances. Remember, our decisions affect the planet we live in. Learn more at greenplan.gov.sg
We’ve just released the 2020 waste and recycling statistics. They reveal that in 2020, Singapore's overall waste generated decreased for a 4th consecutive year, resulting in less waste being sent to Semakau Landfill. Key findings are available at www.nea.gov.sg/our-services/waste-management/waste-statistics-and-overall-recycling

It takes all of us, businesses and consumers alike, to achieve Singapore’s vision of a Zero Waste Nation. #EveryActionCounts in our journey #TowardsZeroWaste. Find out how you can play your part at www.towardszerowaste.gov.sg
The annual National Dengue Prevention Campaign was launched today, to rally everyone to take urgent action to prevent mosquito breeding and a possible surge in dengue cases, amidst the continued high Aedes aegypti mosquito population, and higher circulation of less common Dengue virus serotypes.

The fight against dengue involves all of us. Let’s step up dengue prevention by doing the #MozzieWipeout regularly. go.gov.sg/mozzieproof
Here’s to our frontline workers, who are working hard to keep Singapore clean, green and safe. Happy Labour Day!
Are we practising #GoodHygieneHabits when we’re out and about? From washing our hands regularly to using a serving spoon and avoiding double-dipping, let’s not forget these practices when dining with family and friends. #SGClean
NEA has developed the Garden of Peace @ CCK, at Choa Chu Kang Cemetery Complex, introducing inland ash scattering as an additional option for managing the cremated remains of loved ones. Operational beginning 17 May 2021, the facility will be open to all religious faiths.
#DidYouKnow that our cleaners do more than just clear our tables? They also need to sanitise tables, clear the tray/crockery return stations, and return clean crockery to the stalls.

Let’s do our part to help our cleaners! #ReturnYourTray #ClearYourTable #BinUsedTissues
Selamat Hari Raya to all our Muslim friends! Wishing all a joyous celebration with family and friends.
