#SGDengueUpdate The weekly number of dengue cases remains high at 593 cases, plus, the Aedes aegypti mosquito population has increased for 6 consecutive weeks now. Let’s continue to do the #MozzieWipeout and take protective actions against dengue (go.gov.sg/stopdenguenow)!
Do you use plastic sheets at your gardening area? If your answer is yes, you may want to rethink that! It is definitely a potential habitat for mosquitoes looking for places to lay their eggs – all they need is a 20 cent-sized drop of water to breed! https://go.gov.sg/dengue-checklist
Stop buying more food than you can finish! It is frightening how the amount of food waste generated grown by about 20% over the last 10 years. It is time to be very, very afraid, because even the Halloween monsters are.

Our carbon footprint may be invisible, but it certainly adds to the climate crisis. It’s time to say NO to disposables, as mindless consumption will come back to haunt us one day! Oooooo-oooo. go.gov.sg/neasg-yt-savesemakau

Litterbugs, listen up: Not only is littering inconsiderate, but it can become a public health threat – abandoned drink cans or wrappers can trap water and end up as mosquito breeding habitats. Let’s be considerate and keep Singapore litter-free! #KeepSGClean

#SGDengueUpdate The weekly number of dengue cases has declined to 410, but this number is still about 3 times more than the number in the corresponding period averaged over the past 3 years. We also continue to detect a high incidence of Aedes mosquito breeding in landed homes. Download the myENV app to get regular alerts on dengue clusters, and to report any suspected mosquito breeding habitats to us (www.nea.gov.sg/myENV)!
#DidYouKnow that some plants can be mosquito breeding habitats as their structures have little pockets that can trap water. These plants have leaves that grow upwards at an angle that will create a little cup between the upper side of the stem and the leaves.

Be sure to check this ‘blind spot’ regularly. Here’s a ‘Check and Protect’ checklist for a thorough #MozzieWipeout today: https://go.gov.sg/dengue-checklist
#SGDengueUpdate Thanks to the concerted efforts of the community, the number of weekly dengue cases has declined to 260, the lowest in 2020. However, the number of weekly dengue cases and active dengue clusters are still higher than usual. Let’s all do our part to reduce the Aedes mosquito population and break disease transmission! Staying home during this COVID-19 period has brought out the green thumb in many of us. And yet, with interest comes responsibility, too! Set a daily reminder to keep your plants nourished and your home protected from dengue too: https://go.gov.sg/dengue-checklist #MozzieWipeout
