As we end the 3rd Month of 2025, I’d like to encourage you with a devotional piece I wrote for our 5AM Global Intercession.

Devotional: "In Season and Out of Season - Give Thanks"

Gratitude is not meant to be confined to moments of joy or abundance; it is a posture of the heart that we are called to maintain in every circumstance. In seasons of harvest, giving thanks comes naturally. However, when we face challenges, waiting, or loss, a thankful spirit requires intention and trust in God's sovereignty.
 
The apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18: "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." Notice Paul says "all circumstances," not just when life is easy. Gratitude is a profound act of faith—it declares that we trust God is working, even when we cannot see it.
 
In Ecclesiastes 3:1, we are reminded, "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." God ordains each season in our lives, whether it is one of prosperity or pruning. When we trust His timing, we can thank Him for the lessons and growth He brings through every situation.
 
Finally, Psalm 34:1 declares, "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth." This verse challenges us to make gratitude and praise a lifestyle, not a response to our circumstances.
 
Three Ways to Be Thankful In and Out of Season:
 
1. Remember God's Faithfulness (Harvest Season): When you are in a season of blessing, pause to reflect on God’s provision and faithfulness. Example: When you receive a promotion at work, thank God not only for the opportunity but for the growth and perseverance He cultivated in you to reach that point.
 
2. Trust His Plan (Waiting or Pruning Season): Gratitude can be a choice to trust God, even when life feels uncertain. Example: In times of waiting, such as seeking direction in your calling, give thanks that God’s timing is perfect and that He is preparing you for what’s ahead.
 
3. Serve Others (Difficult Season): A grateful heart is often born through giving. Example: When faced with hardship, such as illness or loss, find ways to serve someone else. It shifts your perspective and reminds you of God’s grace, even in tough times.
 
Gratitude transforms how we see the world and deepens our faith. Whether the sun shines brightly or the storm clouds gather, let us be a people who give thanks continually, trusting that God is good in every season.
 
As we prepare to transition into the 4th month and SECOND quarter of 2025 (already, wow) may we carry over an attitude of GRATITUDE.
