Anything built on this will die, violently.

"You can't glorify violence and condemn it at the same time." - Mike Cosper, Christianity Today
One of the best articles I've ever read! What happened? Thank you @KSPrior and @washingtonpost !https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/05/11/karen-swallow-prior-abortion/
We are writing truths on our alter before it is carpeted. A time capsule in a way but so much more. We want this alter to be a place of love and grace.
Looking forward to reading this from his perspective.
Time for sleep. I have always loved this song.
From my pastor, Steve Eden: " Jesus Christ is still the greatest women’s liberator the world has ever seen. Ladies, Jesus sees you, calls you, speaks truth to you, and heals you!!"

Elizabeth's take: The "others" can't liberate or save you. Don't break your heart.
Come see me if you are in the area!
We demobalized our COVID-19 operations through our dept today (last formal day is 5/31/2022), two years and 3 months. Where did the last two years go? I feel strange. It's like the COVID-19 pandemic split time just like BC and AD. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad. I just feel strange. I'm not sure how that is even possible.

I don't agree with everything that happened. I think honestly I'm still processing these last two crazy years. God was working, even when I could not see and the days seemed so very dark. He is still working, for Light always dispells the darkness, always.
I've had a very eye opening conversation with some former American Nazis (people who left that behind them) in the last few days and over the course of a few years, off and on. They will tell you they were not "at all Republican." They will tell you they were full of hate for many things or they thought they were doing something good. We can't be afraid of these conversations. God can change hearts. Those who come from the darkest, most hateful places can also tell you what other dark, hateful things look like dressed up as "Light."

It confirmed a few things for me. Thankful for those conversations.
Our politicians can't save us from heart sickness, only Jesus can. I am crying as I type this. This and a church shooting in Cali in two days. America we are heart sick and heart broken. 💔
They can pass gun laws  but those laws won't solve deep seeded heart issues or dispel lies. It's a heart issue, not a hardware issue. Evil will still find a way b/c people give themselves to it everyday, regardless of law. When is America going to deal with its heart issue?
Nature walks soothe the soul and seeing new life brings me joy.
Grace is a Person, not a command or a list of rules. Christ made you right, not you. He has already brought you to Himself. Rest in that.
Colossians 1:18-22, Galatians 2:20
My devo from today! Yes, I write in them. It will be interesting to see how this works out.

Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.”
Joshua 5:13-14a, Psalm 2:2-4
Ask yourself two questions when you have a consistent, intense emotional reaction to something someone says or anything you see or hear (outside of grotesque, obvious evil):

1) What is the root of this intense emotion?

2) Is there a subtle lie or bondage in what I am seeing or hearing that I know is wrong?

10 times out of 10, there is a root and a subtle lie or a bondage and your soul is reacting to those things. Find them, give them to the King.
"Many of our conservative beliefs are traditional—but not biblical." -Rachel Milller Green, Beyond Authority and Submission

I am learning so much from her book. Greco-Roman culture and Victorian culture have heavily influenced Christianity since the early 1800s. These ideas are not biblical, they are extra-biblical. One such culture is pagan, the ancient worship of the Greek and Roman hearth gods, Hestia and Vesta. We can't mix pagan culture or past culture with Christianity, we just can't. Christianity must influence, note I did not say control, the culture.
