The plan is to evacuate via commercial flights, but U.S. military support is on standby if needed.
Earlier today, Iran’s Defense Minister warned Tehran would strike U.S. bases if conflict erupts or nuclear talks collapse.

Either the US is trying to put pressure on Iran with some telegraphed displays of an upcoming attack or an attack is planned by either Israel or the US.
Events occurring today:
The US State Department is preparing to order the departure of all non-essential personnel from the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, as well as non-essential personnel and family members also located in Bahrain and Kuwait.
USAF’s High Frequency Global Communications System (HFGCS) is extremely active.
An unusual advisory has been released this morning by the U.K. Office of Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) for the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and Straits of Hormuz, stating that they have been “made aware of increased tensions within the region which could lead to an escalation of military activity having a direct impact on mariners.”
US bases in the Middle East have been put on high alert
The US has issued a 'security notice' to all American vessels currently passing through the Persian Gulf
Should note SLG focuses on Russia, so this will never be the channel that tracks every little event.

What is the Insurrection Act of 1807?
The Insurrection Act of 1807 is a federal law that empowers the President to deploy the U.S. military and National Guard to suppress insurrections or domestic violence.
Insurrection Act vs. martial law.
Just like with the Insurrection Act, martial law also involves the imposition of military control. The key difference is that military involvment through martial law is much broader.
First, martial law applies broadly to the whole nation or large regions, whereas the Insurrection Act is typically invoked for localized unrest or rebellions, such as the 1992 Los Angeles riots.
Second, under martial law there is a broad suspension of civil rights and liberties, such as freedom of assembly, speech and the right to a fair trial. Military commanders replace civilian authorities and courts might be replaced by military tribunals.
