🇫🇷🇷🇺 French media reported that a Russian Navy submarine surfaced off the coast of Brittany and was expelled from French waters
The reasons for the ascent are unknown
▪️The incident occurred on September 29, 2022.
The Russian submarine B-261 Novorossiysk was spotted one hundreds of kilometers from the coast, after which it was escorted from the territorial waters of France by the multipurpose frigate (FREMM) Normandie.
🇫🇷🇪🇸🇬🇧 European allies came to the aid of the French — #Spain sent a patrol boat to the area, after which joined the #UK in and also sent a frigate.
▪️The Russian Navy tugboat Sergei Balk, launched in 2017 and accepted into the Black Sea Fleet in 2020, followed the Russian submarine from the Bay of Biscay.
