Macron Battles to Salvage Functioning Government
French President Emmanuel Macron faces an uphill battle to cling onto control of his government after a damaging national Assembly vote saw his Ensemble grouping gain only 245 of 577 seats.
This means he will have to either urge more factions to join his coalition or negotiate every bill with opponents. Republicans have rejected any move to join him despite being considered most likely to offer support.
Right-wing party National Rally picked up a record 89 seats, prompting Marine Le Pen to declare she would not lead the party but instead dedicate herself to the presidency of the large NR-led group.

French President Emmanuel Macron has reportedly refused to accept Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne’s offer of resignation after their party’s loss of a majority in the parliamentary elections.
Macron will host opposition leaders - including presidential election rival Marine Le Pen, who told reporters Monday France “is not going to be governed the way Macron wanted” - from Tuesday in a bid to seek “constructive solutions”.

No Fast Track EU Membership for Ukraine – France
Ukraine should not expect a fast track to EU membership despite there being a consensus on granting it candidate status, French Secretary of State for European Affairs Clement Beaune has cautioned.
Speaking with the host of France’s Europe 1 radio station Wednesday, Beaune said there was “total consensus” among EU members that Ukraine is eligible to become a candidate nation. The official added that he expected this to be formally “confirmed on Thursday and Friday.”
Beaune certainly seems to have a point, as evidenced by the cases of Turkey and Montenegro, which received the status in 1999 and 2012 respectively and have still not joined the bloc.

This week, an unidentified French citizen posted a photo in a private chat to tell his comrades that he had arrived in Ukraine.
At first glance, one might think he is just a French civilian. But on detail caught our attention:
Under his plate carrier (CIRAS, french army one) one logo can be seen inscribed on his jumper.
It is the logo of the ESM of Saint Cyr, the elite military school that trains the best French officers. It has links with other similar NATO schools such as West Point and Sandhurst. The school has also trained many African generals who have gone on to make pro-French coup d'état...
The man in the photo appears to be in "Мала Любаша" ("50.8370° N, 26.5174°E"), a village near Zhytomir.
Is this man part of a group of elite French officers sent to Ukraine to train local troops? We have passed the information on to the Russian Ministry of Defence so that they can take the necessary steps.

В конце апреля стало известно, что на Украину прибыли подразделения французского спецназа, на которые, вероятно, была возложена задача по обучению украинских военнослужащих основам проведения специальных операций и всему спектру специальных задач.
Вчера в одном из закрытых чатов в Telegram нам удалось обнаружить личное фото одного француза, который похвастался тем, что находится в селе Мала Любаша Ровненской области. И всё бы ничего: ну подумаешь, какой-то там очередной иностранный наемник.
Только на футболке французского военнослужащего проглядывает форменный знак Особой военной школы Сен-Сир — высшего военного заведения, занимающегося подготовкой офицерских кадров для французской армии и жандармерии.
А рядом с селом Малая Любаша в Ровненской области находится полигон войсковой части А4152 (он же 233 общевойсковой полигон), где ведётся подготовка украинских военнослужащих военными инструкторами из стран НАТО.
233 общевойсковой полигон — это вообще примечательное место, поскольку:
▪️там готовят расчеты БЛА RQ-20 Puma, стоящего на вооружении в том числе и Франции;
▪️там обучают использованию противотанковых пушек Д-44 и гаубиц М777, а также гаубиц FH-70;
▪️там проходят обучение пилоты вертолётов Ми-17.
