France in the 1970s produced these rounds which were very light bullet which could be launched at high velocity (hence the name THV = Trรจs Haute Vitesse = very high speed).
The bullets had a sharp point which in conjunction with the high velocity was intended to provide excellent barrier penetration. However, the sudden widening of the bullet behind the point was designed to generate a wide wound channel, and the light weight meant that it would quickly lose velocity, both in the target and (should it miss) in the open air.
Eventually these made their way to South Africa and were further developed by explosives engineer Andre van Dyk. A plastic round nose was added to improve feeding and the South African police adopted the round, apparently using it since 1991.

A weakened dawn
Scatters onto the fields
The melancholy
Of the setting suns
The melancholy
Rocks of a sweet song
My heart which forgets itself
To the setting suns
And peculiar dreams
Like suns
Setting, on the strands,
Vermilion ghosts,
Parade relentlessly
Parade, alike
To big suns
Setting on the strands.

Sweet France
Dear country of my childhood
Cradled in tender carefreeness
I have kept you in my heart!
My village with the bell tower and noble houses
Where children of my age
Have shared my joy
Yes, I love you
And i give you this poem
Yes, I love you
In joyful and painful times

"You must expect then to be shaped, cut and chiseled under the hammer of the Cross, otherwise you would remain unpolished stone, of no value at all, to be disregarded and cast aside. Do not cause the hammer to recoil when it strikes you. Yield to the chisel that is carving you and tha hand that is shaping you."

๐ซ๐ท๐ฅ PARIS: CHAOS AT THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL
๐๐ป The final of the Champion's League (European soccer championship) degenerated tonight in Paris, with clashes between several fans and clashes with the police.
๐จ๐พ People of immigrant origin, from the neighborhoods surrounding Paris, took advantage of the situation to cause chaos.
๐ท๐บ The final should normally have taken place in Saint-Petersbourg. But because of the conflict in Ukraine, the event was moved to Paris, which was not prepared to handle an event of this level.
๐ The clashes of this evening is posing question :
1๏ธโฃ Some French journalists accuse the Russians of having generated and distributed fake tickets during the final to cause chaos in the city
2๏ธโฃ More broadly, observers wonder if Paris will be able to host the Olympic Games in 2024 given that the city is already unable to maintain order on a smaller event.

โ๏ธSUNNY SUNDAY โ๏ธ
๐ Have a rest while listening to Lullaby for Old Children, by the Breton musician and story-teller Patrick Ewen.
๐จโ๐ฆณPatrick Ewen has written many songs and tales about his homeland Brittany, which is a peninsula in western France that was united to France in the 16th century.
โ Just as with many other parts of France, Brittany had her own culture, language and identity. Modern tides have of course eroded all of these, but small groups like Diwan and Div Yezh are actively teaching the Breton language and its culture.
๐ฃ Our native tongue is our true fatherland, said Emil Cioran. In a increasingly globalized world, unique cultures can only survive if their recipients make the conscious decision to preserve them.
โค๏ธ So take a moment today to appreciate the culture you belong to, and the legacy you carry with it! Happy Sunday to everyone.

On point of view:
In the medieval times, sometimes only Jesters were allowed to give bad news to the King - news no one else dared to give. In 1340, when the French fleet was sunk by the English navy at the battle of Sluys, the Court Jester of King Phillippe VI told him:
"English sailors don't even have the guts to jump into the water like our brave French".
