Vacancy Announcement
The National Biogas Programme of Ethiopia (NBPE) is a bilateral programme hosted by the FDRE ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity and implemented in eight regions of the country. NBPE is interested to hire a competent candidate for the following its posts based on the equipments given below.
I. Job Title: General Service Officer Qualification: MA/BA in Marketing, Management, Business Admin and related field with 5/7 years of related work experiences
a. Main Responsibilities
• Plans, communicates, coordinates & supervises the overall activities of the section.
• Prepares annual & periodic action plans & budget for general service activities.
• Prepares annual & periodic reports.
• Supervises the work of the service
• Support the finance section of the programme
• Coordinate venues and other logistics for workshops, review meetings and other gatherings
• Undertake the procurement, store and deliver supplies to the programme
• Collects purchase requisitions from the NBPEC and RBPCUs and processes for procurement.
• Collects Performa invoices from at least three suppliers
• Delivers sealed quotations to procurement section Head
• Prepares bid analysis sheets
• Prepares purchase orders
• Maintains register book for purchases
• Collects ordered materials from suppliers checking the specification and quality of materials according to the purchase order.
• Delivers purchased materials to store keeper
• Delivers documents related to purchases to finance section
• Performs other duties assigned by your line manager.
Terms of employment:
- Contract for one year with possibility of extension depending up on satisfactory performance of the candidate

II. Title: Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Qualification: BSC/MA in economics, agricultural economics and related field with 5/3 relevant experiences
Main Responsibilities: Provide technical direction and advice to ensure that the project M&E activities are designed and implemented in line with the agreed ABPP and SNV monitoring framework, defined results in compliance with process and procedures established by NBPE.
• Provide technical direction and advice to ensure that M&E activities integrate global best practice in measurement of Biogas Program results, Design/monitor/ modify performance reporting tools;.
• Assess the M&E capacity gaps/needs of the regions and offer regular capacity development
. • Support Regional monitoring a nd evaluation of NBPE Program results according to established timelines, to include consolidation of data and information from the eight regions for internal and external reporting; as well as coordinate and compilation of required program reports, success stories and lessons learned.
• Maintenance of the program database. Consolidation of data from all the regions and spearhead analysis of the data for program use
• Lead timely and regular dissemination of evaluation findings to multiple stakeholders including ABPP and partners for program improvement.
• Plan, coordinate and participate in regular, independent evaluations by external and internal evaluators
• Conduct routine data quality assessments of performance indicators; Conduct and lead regular monitoring data review meetings with internal and external stakeholders;

2. ተፈላጊ ክህሎቶች፡
2.1. የአመራር ክህሎት፡- አመልካቾች በሚወዳደሩበት ስራ ክፍል ያለውን የሰው ሃይል፣ የገንዘብና ቁሳቁስ ሀብት በማስተባበር ለመምራት የሚያስችል የአመራር ክህሎት ያላቸው መሆን አለባቸው፡፡
2.2. አዲስ አሰራር የመፍጠርና ለውጥ የማምጣት ክህሎት፡- አመልካቾች በሚወዳደሩበት ስራ ክፍል ለውጥና እድገትን ለማምጣት የሚያስችሉ አዳዲስ የአሰራር ስልቶችን የመቀየስ፣ የማመንጨትና ተግባራዊ የማድረግ አቅም ያላቸው መሆን አለባቸው፡፡

Monitoring & Evaluation Officer-Peace Building Fund (Addis Ababa)

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking to hire PBF-Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, who will be responsible for the overall coordination of M&E and related activities of Inclusive Governance and Conflict Management Support for Ethiopia project (PBF) and responsible for providing timely reports and updates for the Project Steering and Technical Committee to help them pass decisions based on relevant information and reports and to effectively carry out their management functions. In this regard, he/she will ensure quality and timely reports, comprehensive AWPs and respective budgets.

Contract type: Service Contract (SB4) - *Service Contract is a non-staff contractual modality.
Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension.

Qualification and experience: Advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding, Data Management, International Development, Political Science, Sociology, International Relations, Law, Public Administration, Refugee Studies or related Social Sciences;

Interested applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems for international projects, Strong familiarity with monitoring and evaluation systems databases and data management software; Demonstrated expertise in qualitative and quantitative data collection and management methods; Experience in supporting monitoring and evaluation programs that promote gender and youth empowerment, as well as and peacebuilding initiatives; Experience working within a UN agency and/or other international organization; Experience in managing projects with multiple partners; Knowledge and experience of Ethiopian context will be an advantage; Experience in mainstreaming gender equality and human rights In designing and implementing related projects including monitoring and reporting on these cross-cutting themes; Experience of capacity building international project teams in monitoring and evaluation.
