In prison you can buy things from "commissary" each week. No matter how much money you have on your "books" you have a monthly limit. The actual shopping is sort of like a lottery. You have to turn in this sheet a couple days before you go. Then you come up to a booth and they call your name and cell number, and each inmate goes in one at a time to a little booth. On the other side, after you scan your fingerprint, an officer scans the items like a cashier and gives you what you asked for so you can put them in a mesh laundry bag to carry back to your cell - unless what you marked down on the list isn't in stock, in which case they may let you substitute it for something similar if they like you. As for the actual items, see for yourself, I feel like the clothes are overpriced and the food is mostly junk food. I guess that's because you can't exactly refrigerate anything. Back in the common area in the unit near where the cells are, they have a water fountain, an ice machine, and hot water for coffee, tea, ramen, etc..
