About the talk: With their greater capabilities to generate realistic and creative content, text-to-image generative AI models like DALL-E, MidJourney, Imagen, or Stable Diffusion are reaching ever wider audiences. Any unsafe behaviors thus have the potential to cause wide-reaching harm, for example, through generated images that are violent, sexually explicit, or contain biased and derogatory stereotypes. In her talk, Lora will address this need and talk about the Adversarial Nibbler challenge, a data-centric prompt hacking competition for the safety of generative text-to-image models.
The talk will last 60 minutes and is scheduled to take place on October 12, 2023 (Thursday) at 5 pm WAT / 7 pm EAT / 4pm GMT.

Our special guest is Dr Girma Makonnen, Dr Girma Makonnen attended medical school in New York city at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and did his residency training in the field of Neurosurgery at Ohio State Medical center in Columbus, Ohio. Upon completing his training, he worked at Lynchburg General Hospital, in Virginia, as a staff neurosurgeon and then moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota to work at Altru Hospital before he decided to move permanently to Ethiopia in July of 2018. He has been working at Marcia surgical center since that time.
