🇺🇸 Senate Backlash Could Stall Trump’s Crypto
“It’s a selling of influence, a conflict of interest, just a massive form of corruption we haven’t witnessed.”
—Sen. Jeff Merkley
At the center of the uproar: World Liberty Financial, the Trump family’s crypto firm, which just secured $2 billion in deposits from a UAE-backed venture fund.
World Liberty’s new token, USD1, functions like a bank product. It accepts deposits, issues coins, and then invests those deposits to generate yield—profits that go directly to the Trump family and its partners.
At a crypto conference last week, a World Liberty founder announced that an Emirati venture fund backed by Abu Dhabi’s government will use $2B in USD1 for a major transaction—effectively funneling foreign state money into a business controlled by the U.S. president’s family.
Senate Democrats are now pushing to kill the GENIUS Act, a stablecoin deregulation bill that was once sailing through. They circulated memos citing NYT reporting, calling the legislation a tool for Trump to “corruptly profit from his cryptocurrency schemes.”
Also tonight, $1.5M-per-seat “Crypto & AI Innovators Dinner” (invitation above) was held Monday night at Trump National Golf Club—hosted by David Sacks, Trump’s AI/crypto czar. The dinner was organized by MAGA Inc., raising major funds for Trump.

🇺🇸 $40M+ Tent City at Guantánamo Quietly Dismantled After Holding Just 497 Migrants
Trump’s DHS built a military-style camp at Gitmo to house up to 30,000 migrants.
By May? The tents were torn down. Just 32 people remain. Total detained since Feb: 497.
That’s $80,000+ per person.
What really happened:
• In February, DHS chief Kristi Noem flew in for a press tour. Military drills, shackled detainees, ICE-policed airstrips the whole show.
• The migrants, mostly Venezuelans, were flown in from El Paso. ICE claimed they were gang members yet offered no proof, charges, or identities.
• Gitmo staff peaked at 725 (mostly military and ICE), guarding as few as 32 migrants. That’s 22 officers per detainee.
• By late April, the Pentagon began tearing the tent city down. No “surge” ever came. The White House stayed silent.
• Lawmakers say the site violated detention standards, lacked legal clarity, and may have broken a federal court order barring third-country deportations without hearings.
• Deportees were airlifted from Gitmo to Honduras, Nicaragua—and possibly El Salvador, where some face prison under a secret U.S. deal.
• A federal court is investigating if military flights from Guantánamo to El Salvador violated legal protections for deportees.

Officials have been asked to update 20-year-old contingency plans that would put the country on a war footing after threats of attack by the Kremlin.
A classified dossier will set out how the Government would respond to a declaration of war, including bunkers to protect the Cabinet and the Royal family, public service broadcasts and the stockpiling of resources.

🇺🇸 Trump Got Jealous of Russia's Victory Day and Celebrations
Trump wants to declare two new “Victory Days” for WWI and WWII, one on Nov 11 (already Veterans Day) and one on May 8, mimicking Europe’s VE Day. Don't forget! He also wants his big military parade.
Feels more like an insecure attempt to claim credit for victories the U.S. barely contributed to.

"The Ascent", 1977
Set in the brutal winter of Nazi-occupied Belarus, The Ascent follows two Soviet partisans on a desperate mission for food who are ultimately captured by the Germans. What begins as a war survival story unfolds into a powerful moral and spiritual confrontation.
Larisa Shepitko’s final masterpiece is less about war than about the human soul. Shot in black and white, with hauntingly stark landscapes and raw close-ups, The Ascent blends physical suffering with metaphysical themes. The story draws clear parallels to religious martyrdom, echoing the Gospels in both imagery and tone.
The production itself was grueling. Filmed in freezing conditions with real snow and bitter cold, the actors endured true hardship to bring authenticity to the screen. Shepitko was known for her intensity and demanded total emotional commitment — something evident in every frame. Her sudden death in a car accident two years later only cemented the film’s reputation as a transcendent final statement.

🇩🇪🇺🇦 The coalition agreement signed by Germany’s CDU, CSU, and SPD parties makes no mention of supplying Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine.
Instead, the document emphasizes support for Ukraine’s EU and NATO membership bids and promises continued financial and military aid—including using frozen Russian assets. It also outlines Berlin’s willingness to offer “material and political security guarantees” to a sovereign Ukraine.
Notably, future Chancellor Friedrich Merz had previously left the door open to sending Taurus missiles, but his SPD coalition partners have consistently opposed the idea.
