🇷🇺 The Russian Ministry of Defense has published an obituary for Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, who was killed in a Ukrainian terrorist attack in Balashikha, near Moscow.

In 1987, Moskalik graduated from the Far Eastern Military Command School (DVOKU) and rose through the ranks, from platoon commander to Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff.

He played a key role in the development of military operations in Syria in 2015 and served as part of the Russian Defense Ministry's group during the Minsk agreements from 2015 to 2021.

At the outset of Russia’s Special Military Operation (SMO), General Moskalik led the duty shift of the Combat Control Group of the General Staff.

Throughout his service, he received numerous awards, including the Order of Merit for the Fatherland (IV degree), the Order of Nevsky, the Order of Zhukov, the Order of Military Merit, the Order of Honor, and several medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland (I and II degrees).
