🇷🇺🇺🇸 In an interview with CBS, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Trump is right in his assessment that the U.S. and Russia are moving in the right direction toward a settlement in Ukraine.

Lavrov emphasized that Russia is ready to make a deal on Ukraine, though some details still need to be negotiated. He also noted that Donald Trump is the only world leader who has acknowledged the need to address the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis.

Lavrov confirmed that Russia maintains contact with the U.S. on the issue of resolving the conflict and responded positively to the idea of a possible meeting between Trump advisor Witkoff and President Putin.

🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇦Keir Starmer has insisted that Ukraine must be allowed to decide the terms of any peace deal with Russia in a challenge to proposals by Donald Trump.

The Prime Minister contradicted Trump by saying that the “courageous” Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, was not to blame for the failure to strike an agreement ending the war.

He also refused to back US plans to formally recognise Crimea as Russian in any negotiated settlement with Vladimir Putin, and demanded that Moscow agree to an “unconditional ceasefire”.

🇷🇺Any deployment of peacekeepers to historical Russian lands would risk a third world war, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu warned in an interview with TASS.

The senior Russian security official pointed to plans by the "coalition of the willing" to put boots on the ground in Ukraine under the guise of peacekeepers. "Sensible politicians in Europe understand that the implementation of this scenario may lead to a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia or even cause WWIII further down the road," he argued.

According to Shoigu, rather, the notion of `peacekeepers’ conceals the pursuit of control over Ukraine and its mineral resources. "It would be more correct to call such troops invaders or occupants," he insisted.

Pashinyan's spokesperson, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, made a statement on behalf of Pashinyan:

Prime Minister Pashinyan condemns such conduct, considering it to be irresponsible and unacceptable. The burning of the flags of internationally recognised states - especially neighboring states - cannot receive any other attitude by the leader of the country.
