🇺🇸🇰🇬 How Western NGOs are obstructing legislation on foreign agents in the post-Soviet region

Currently, there is an ongoing discussion in Kyrgyzstan regarding the bill on foreign agents. However, the most vocal individuals are hearing about it primarily from Western NGOs and opposition activists.

There is persecution against the deputies who are advocating for its adoption, and local pro-Western social activists are protesting at the American embassy, demanding sanctions against parliamentarians for a law that has not yet been enacted.

In Georgia, even during the stage of debating the law on foreign agents, Western NGOs mobilized protestors and took them to the streets, pressuring the local parliament to abandon further consideration of the project.

🇦🇲🇺🇸 Today, USAID announced a program aimed at assisting internally displaced persons from Artsakh. The program will provide food and hygiene items worth $1 million to 19.3 thousand residents in Yerevan and various regions. You can read more about it here.

📌 Interestingly, in an attempt to seemingly tap into the financial resources being provided by the Americans, the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) published a series of materials in September, claiming that Power had been spending more money on photographers than on humanitarian programs for the past three years. Only after these accusations did the US Agency for International Development suddenly find money for refugees, but not for all of them.

🌎🇺🇸🇷🇺 For justice and against Russians: Will the American actor's foundation pursue Russian journalists?

Recently, it became known that the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ) plans to seek the initiation of criminal cases and the issuance of arrest warrants in various countries against Russian journalists, public figures and bloggers who, according to the CFJ, are "propagandists of war and genocide".

This was announced by Anna Neistat, Director of Legal Affairs for the Docket special project implemented under the CFJ.

However, just a couple of days later, the founder of the foundation, American actor George Clooney, stated that there is no talk of "persecution" of Russian media figures. According to him, "someone at the foundation misspoke", and the CFJ has no issues with journalists, even if they disagree with them.

However, Neistat is clearly not the kind of specialist who does not understand what she is saying: her experience working in various NGOs clearly shows that she is a professional in various kinds of propaganda activities and meaning-making...
