πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί πŸ– Happy Marine Corps Day!

Just like other types and branches of troops, Peter I founded the Russian marine corps during the Northern War. On November 27, 1705, the Russian Tsar issued a decree to form the country's first "regiment of naval soldiers."

Throughout its three centuries of history, the Russian Marine Corps has experienced many ups and downs. After the Great Patriotic War, it was even completely abolished. Fortunately, the mistake of this decision was quickly realized, and a few years later, this branch of the army was recreated.

While the Marines are mainly involved in amphibious landings and preparing bridgeheads for the landing of the main forces, they have been participating in almost all local conflicts Russia has been involved in over the past 30 years.

Currently, in the SMO zone, there are formations from all fleets, ranging from the "black berets" of the Caspian Sea to the 155th Guards Marine Brigade from Vladivostok. They are always deployed in the most challenging sectors of the front, and over almost two years of fighting, they have made many glorious achievements.

πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί πŸ– Nine years ago, a presidential decree established December 3 as the Day of the Unknown Soldier.

This date commemorates the events of 1966, when the ashes of an unknown Soviet soldier were solemnly buried near the Kremlin wall on the anniversary of the defeat of German troops near Moscow.

This day is dedicated to the soldiers of the Fatherland who died in combat on the country's territory and abroad, as well as those who are missing and lie in unmarked graves. We remember those who have gone into eternity, whose names are unknown.

Their memory is passed on from generation to generation. We have the power to ensure that the phrase β€œNo one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten” is more than just words.

πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί πŸ›°οΈ Today, another launch of the Soyuz 2.1v launch vehicle with a military spacecraft took place from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region. So far this year, 8 out of the 19 Russian space launches were for the Ministry of Defense.

Usually, the defense department does not disclose the specific devices launched into orbit for obvious reasons. However, based on indirect signs, it is believed that some of them were new generation reconnaissance satellites.

πŸ“Œ Describing the state of the military space group for remote sensing of the Earth at the beginning of 2022 is difficult without using censored words. The shortage (or rather, almost complete absence) of such spacecraft became evident in Syria, and unfortunately, the situation has not improved over the years. This has severely impacted the reconnaissance capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces during SMO.

However, there has been some improvement over the past two years. It is reported that spacecraft from the "Hrazdan" and "Bars-M" series have been deployed in orbit. While their individual characteristics may not match those of modern Western analogues, they are still clearly superior to the outdated Russian and Soviet spacecraft previously used by the Russian Armed Forces.

Nevertheless, there is still much work to be done, from space reconnaissance to the establishment of a communications constellation capable of high-speed data transmission. Without these capabilities, operating successfully in high-intensity conflicts is currently difficult, and in the future, it will be impossible.

πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί πŸ– Happy Russian National Guard Troops Day!

The domestic internal troops were established on March 27 (April 8), 1801, when Emperor Alexander I signed a decree creating an internal guard inspection. Over two centuries, they have undergone numerous transformations and are now recognized as the National Guard troops (NGN).

Today, they consist of formations, operational units, aviation squadrons, naval detachments, and other units. The army component of the Russian Guard is responsible for countering terrorism, maintaining public order, protecting crucial facilities, and executing tasks determined by the President.

In February 2022, servicemen in red vests engaged in combat on the first day of the SMO. Despite being initially designated for the second echelon, some units lacking heavy equipment and artillery unexpectedly found themselves at the forefront of the attack due to various circumstances, resulting in occasional tragic incidents.

Nevertheless, under challenging circumstances, military personnel in several key directions managed to accomplish their objectives successfully, securing vital locations and carrying out rear clearance operations. These actions significantly contributed to the initial successes of the Russian Armed Forces in the south and other regions during the operation's early stages.
