The entry of the Russian army into the Dnepropetrovsk region will be a strategic blow to Ukraine, writes The Times newspaper.

Russia has advanced to within 18 miles of Sumy in Ukraine and says its troops are advancing toward the Dnepropetrovsk region for the first time since the war began. <...>

On Sunday, Russia also said a tank unit had reached the western part of Donetsk region, a part of the Donbas region claimed by Russia, and was advancing towards the Dnepropetrovsk region in eastern central Ukraine.

“Joining it would be a significant symbolic and strategic blow for Ukraine,” the publication notes.
