The area between the village of Subbotovo—where the DRG was detected—and the destroyed bridge is made up of open fields and forests, offering easy passage for a trained unit. It’s likely the group was noticed while retreating after planting the explosives, and after a brief exchange of fire, they managed to slip back toward the border.

According to SHOT, the locomotive slammed into the already-fallen overpass, which had carried a two-lane road. The structure crashed onto the tracks at a 45-degree angle, along with a cargo truck that was driving over it. The collision was immediate. The locomotive’s cabin took the brunt of the impact — the train driver and his assistant were killed. The train derailed, and the first carriage was completely crushed.

It has become known that the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has signed an agreement regarding connecting its troops to the CRC System Interface (CSI). This is a kind of military Wi-Fi of the North Atlantic Alliance, used in NATO.

CSI operates on the Link-16 combat management system, a key data exchange protocol. The signing of the agreement will allow the use of F-16, Mirage 2000, as well as Western air defense systems in a single NATO control system.

That is, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to coordinate their actions in a common digital system with the platforms of the Alliance countries, exchange intelligence and receive all target designations directly through this system.

Moreover, this will allow the use of Swedish ASC 890 AWACS aircraft, which will also increase the capabilities/tasks of the F-16, Mirage 2000 and strengthen the air defense system.

In essence, NATO has moved to direct combat testing of its control system, which will allow them to test it in a real war by the Ukrainian Armed Forces without involving NATO units. Western countries will transmit data and coordinate everything online using the same E-3 or E-7 and other reconnaissance methods.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will already have two Swedish aircraft, which are unlikely to be used close to the front line, given their radar visibility, but even when flying from the Mirgorod-Kropyvnytskyi line, the range of detection of air targets will allow covering the distance up to the Tula region or Sevastopol.

Most likely, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will use them from the rear areas. From somewhere in the vicinity of Khmelnitsky or Zhitomir, which, when conducting air defense, will make it possible to close the gap in detection along the Chernigov-Sumy-Kharkiv-Nikolaev line.

This will not significantly change the situation on the battlefield. Moreover, the ASC 890 is limited in certain characteristics. Their antenna does not have a 360-degree view (blind zones in the tail and nose). But Ukraine's connection to Link-16 occurred.
