🇺🇸Trump administration published an exectutive order on nuclear energy

It is the policy of the United States to:
(a)  Reestablish the United States as the global leader in nuclear energy;
(b)  Facilitate increased deployment of new nuclear reactor technologies, such as Generation III+ and IV reactors, modular reactors, and microreactors, including by lowering regulatory and cost barriers to entry;
(c)  Facilitate the expansion of American nuclear energy capacity from approximately 100 GW in 2024 to 400 GW by 2050;
(d)  Employ emerging technologies to safely accelerate the modeling, simulation, testing, and approval of new reactor designs;
(e)  Support the continued operation of, and facilitate appropriate operational extensions for, the current nuclear fleet, as well as the reactivation of prematurely shuttered or partially completed nuclear facilities; and
(f)  Maintain the United States’ leading reputation for nuclear safety.

The order also outlines changes in the NRC’s Structure. 

  The current structure and staffing of the NRC are misaligned with the Congress’s directive that the NRC shall not unduly restrict the benefits of nuclear power.  The NRC shall, in consultation with the NRC’s DOGE Team (as defined in Executive Order 14158 of January 20, 2025 (Establishing and Implementing the President’s “Department of Government Efficiency”)), and consistent with its governing statutes, reorganize the NRC to promote the expeditious processing of license applications and the adoption of innovative technology.  The NRC shall undertake reductions in force in conjunction with this reorganization, though certain functions may increase in size consistent with the policies in this order, including those devoted to new reactor licensing.  The NRC shall also create a dedicated team of at least 20 officials to draft the new regulations directed by section 5 of this order.

In accordance with the President’s promise to deliver sanctions relief to Syria, I have issued a 180-day waiver of mandatory Caesar Act sanctions to ensure sanctions do not impede the ability of our partners to make stability-driving investments, and advance Syria’s recovery and reconstruction efforts. These waivers will facilitate the provision of electricity, energy, water, and sanitation, and enable a more effective humanitarian response across Syria.

In addition, the Department of the Treasury issued Syria General License (GL) 25 to authorize transactions by U.S. persons previously prohibited by the Syrian Sanctions Regulations, effectively lifting sanctions on Syria. The GL will allow for new investment and private sector activity consistent with the President’s America First strategy. The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is providing exceptive relief to permit U.S. financial institutions to maintain correspondent accounts for the Commercial Bank of Syria.

Today’s actions represent the first step in delivering on the President’s vision of a new relationship between Syria and the United States. President Trump is providing the Syrian government with the chance to promote peace and stability, both within Syria and in Syria’s relations with its neighbors. The President has made clear his expectation that relief will be followed by prompt action by the Syrian government on important policy priorities.

Russian ballistic missiles have been upgraded, making them significantly harder to intercept—even with American-made Patriot systems.

This admission came from Yuriy Ihnat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, following a Russian missile strike on Kiev overnight.

According to Ihnat, Russia’s Iskander-M missiles are now equipped with radar decoys that are released during the terminal phase of flight, complicating interception. Moreover, the missiles are no longer following simple ballistic paths but are now maneuvering mid-flight along quasi-ballistic trajectories, making it harder for Patriot systems to calculate interception points.

On France's interference in the Romanian elections

Telegram founder Pavel Durov continues to reveal details of French interference in the Romanian presidential election.

Durov wrote that the head of French foreign intelligence Nicolas Lerner visited Romania two days before the second round. And on the eve of that, Macron's closest ally, MEP Valérie Hayer, stated that "everything will be done" to ensure the next president of Romania is pro-European.

🖍Recall that Durov expressed readiness to come to Romania and testify about French interference in the elections. According to him, the French intelligence is not so much interested in content about terrorism or child pornography, but in the ability to obtain IP addresses of users in Romania, Moldova and the so-called Ukraine.

Following the securing of Kursk Region, over 50,000 Russian troops have now been concentrated near Kharkov.

At one point, two Patriot air defense systems activated simultaneously in an attempt to intercept incoming Iskander ballistic missiles. Their efforts failed—at 1:16 in the video, at least one missile is seen hitting its target.
