🇷🇺The Russian government has extended the tax and insurance payment deferral for most businesses in the Kursk region for another year, according to an official statement from the Cabinet's press service.

The measure applies to entrepreneurs and companies operating in border areas or regions under the counter-terrorist operation regime, including zones where local populations have been relocated. It also covers affiliated branches and agricultural businesses.

Payments originally due in 2024 and 2025 will now be postponed until 2026, with the option to repay them in monthly installments over the following year.

The move is aimed at easing financial pressure on affected businesses, giving them more liquidity for staff wages, raw materials, and equipment.

In other words, Zelensky is trying to craft a narrative along the lines of: “See? Putin won’t come to Istanbul—he doesn’t want peace.” But it had already been made clear that Russia would be sending a delegation, not Putin himself. So, Zelensky’s response came too late and looks more like a PR move than a serious initiative.
