πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦The TCC and the police have carried out a large-scale raid on bars and restaurants in Uzhgorod

Ukrainian journalist Vitaliy Glagola reported that at least 7 patrol cars and 5 minibuses were involved in the operation.

"They check only guests, they don't touch the staff. Everyone who falls under the filter is taken to the Uzhgorod TCC, where they check their documents. They even take those who have a reservation or a deferment certificate. It is known that law enforcement officers are among those taken," Glagola wrote.

⭐️ Red Star Cinema: films about the Great Patriotic War Victory Day is approaching, and every day we will talk about a movie that we think is worth watching to learn more about the war, and the Russian/Soviet perspective on it. "The Dawns Here Are Quiet"…
⭐️ Red Star Cinema: films about the Great Patriotic War

As Victory Day draws near, we continue highlighting powerful Soviet films that capture the war through a uniquely Russian/Soviet lens β€” with all its trauma, sacrifice, and humanity.

"Come and See", 1985

Belarus, 1943. A teenage boy named Flyora joins the Soviet partisan resistance, believing he’s headed for glory. What he witnesses instead is a descent into utter horror. As the Nazi occupation scorches its way across villages and forests, Flyora is pulled into the unspeakable cruelty of war β€” losing not only his innocence, but his grip on reality.

"Come and See" is not just a war film β€” it's a cinematic experience. Co-written by war veteran Ales Adamovich and directed by Elem Klimov, the film was decades in the making. Adamovich, who fought as a teenage partisan himself, insisted that only absolute realism could do justice to the truth. Klimov agreed β€” and refused to sanitize anything.

To film Come and See, the production used live ammunition, not blanks. The lead actor, 14-year-old Aleksei Kravchenko, reportedly aged visibly during filming due to the emotional toll. At one point, he had to be hypnotized between takes to avoid long-term trauma. The film’s hallucinatory camerawork and unflinching realism were groundbreaking at the time β€” and still are.

Initially blocked by Soviet censors for its brutal honesty, the film was finally released in 1985, just before the Perestroika era. Today, it is widely regarded as one of the most powerful anti-war films ever made β€” not just in Russia, but globally.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§80 years ago, Brits brutally murdered several thousand Soviet prisoners of war from Nazi concentration camps in the Baltic.

FSB has published declassified archival documents about how on May 3, 1945, the British sank three German ships in the Bay of LΓΌbeck: the Cap Arcona, the Thielbek and Deutschland, on which the Germans were transporting prisoners to Norway.

The British cold-bloodedly bombed and shot defenseless people from the air, even though they begged for mercy, and then finished off those who tried to escape from boats.

According to various estimates, 7000 to 12000 people died. The overwhelming majority of them were Soviet PoWs. Only 300 people were saved. The crime occurred despite the Red Cross info about the upcoming convoy.
Vasily Salomatkin, who survived the tragedy, said that the British were no different from the Nazis in their atrocities. The British did not even want to bury the dead and the few survivors were placed in a camp, where they were tortured in every possible way.
